I've been to the Land of Smiles maybe 15 times. Have great friends the live there both Thai and farang. With the King passing, there is so much unknown that I would put travel plans on hold for anyone thinking about going there in winter. The crown Prince is not respected and the dynasty is in serious jeopardy IMO. My thoughts go out to the great Thai people I know and I wish them the best through all of this.

Having seen NO news about this (my own fault), I can only come to 2 conclusions:

1) It was Hilary's fault
2) Trump 1
Hilary 0

:ROFL: :ROFLMAO::rolleyes:

Whatever is happening, hope people are safe and ok over there...

I messaged my friends last night and there is a mix of sorrow and fear. Yes, they loved their king, but at the same time fear what would happen after he is gone. Here is an old article about the Crown Prince.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2010/05/19/the-playboy-prince-of-thailand.html

Thais won't talk openly about issues and certainly won't write about them due to the strict laws forbidding any ill talk towards the royal family, but the concerns are well founded. I'm not so sure that the Princess could actually be Queen as stated in the article. Perhaps the Crown Prince would meet a fate similar to The deceased King's older brother.

In other news, people will wear black for a year, there is possibly no entertainment for 1 month. Does that mean the bars will be closed and horny punters are best not traveling to Pattaya and Nana Plaza in the short term? Who is to say?
