The various Terrible's chips seem to be fairly popular with all y'all chippers out there. The spots and physical condition of the chips seems pretty nice - I really like the St Joe's secondary 1's! - but the inlay doesn't speak to me, and I generally have little desire to own them. Just personal preference, that's all.

With that said, I'm curious what appeals to the Terrible's collectors out there about these chips. So, why that set? What sets these chips apart from others for you?

Very interested to hear your thoughts!

PLUS: Some great colors/spots (-> perfect for custom labels), mostly available in mint condition

MINUS: RHC mold, VERY cartoonish inlay design

^^ this. Didn't initially buy very many, and have since sold them all.

What I love the most about them is the combiation of chip color/edge spot color. They are just hot.

Also the feeling and sound of them are the best in the business imo.
That follows to how they stack: they really just only move when u want them to move! I havent seen anything close to that with other chips.

Inlaywise, they are not the best, I agree on that. But to me they have everything on it what it takes - even fairly big and easily readable denominations.

I love everything about them. Of course I also have a lot of Terrible's collectibles that aren't poker chips.

I'm not a huge fan of white inlays but the color and edgespots are amazing. I like the layout of the inlay which is why you'll notice my Gangster Squad inlay is very similar in layout other then having a black background.

St. Joe is only an hour from me so that is one reason. I also really like the colors used, the inlay could be better, but at least it's not Even Stevens..;) and MINTY

As shaboo stated the only real downside is the RHC mold.

Thanks Dave :).

Speaking of Terrible's items.... Someone snipped a Terrible's shot glass from me a minute ago on eBay :(.

Probably Slisk....he done bought all the damn chips.

Haha you are probably right. My only consolation is at least whoever won it had to pay 10.50 plus shipping. The one that I already got a year ago I only paid like 2 bucks :)

I like the colors and the spots - they look great in stacks. I used to have a nice cash set I purchased from Jim at the Chiproom - man, I miss them chips...

Wasn't me.

I knew it wasn't you. The feedback score was about 60 too high to be your eBay.

Having new/mint fractionals is a huge plus too.

I still have some die-casts to trade for that too. Just saying....

That shot glass will go to the grave with me lol. I was really hoping to add another one to my collection though being I've got a pretty decent shot glass collection from every place I've ever traveled.

Overall the nicest casino Paulson chips ever. Beautiful colors and spots, a nice inlay, security features, etc. The colors remind me of a box of salt water taffy at the beach.

I wrote a review of them awhile back on CT. I really regret selling mine.

I have a buddy who has a beautiful cash set. I have just never liked the name, it was a dealbreaker for me.

Many denoms available.
Another factor in the Terribles addiction was that TCR released two different casino SJ/MT, nearly at same time.
Many of us mixed both casinos chips.
I miss the few St Jo secondaries I owned. Especially dollars chips.

I'm with those who have no interest in Terrible's. There's nothing about them I like - colors, labels, the Terrible cartoon character concept.

For class, IMO, they can't touch the GVs, or even the PCAs.

That's a good thing -- saved me money, and avoided more chips coming into the house. ;)

So I'm happy again for all of you who love them -- less money available for you to compete for the chips I do like!

BUY TERRIBLES!

I just have a smattering of the low denoms, but I do love the singles as bounty chips. The $100s and $500s have super nice spots, but I've only had them in passing before reshipping. More than $3 for a wallhanger still hurts my wallet too much.
