As per the title, tell me what you think.

I’d like suggestions for the wife free portion of my trip, and the part where she joins me.

Things I’d like advice on.

Great burgers (other than in-n-out)
Great bars (I heard there’s a secret one in the cosmo)
Adventure type activities
Whatever random stuff you’d recommend

I’ve already booked my Canyon helicopter tour and I’m thinking of other things around Vegas I should do.

We are thinking of going on the stratosphere rides, but I’ve heard they are a bit crap. Is it worth it?

I also heard the container Park is cool downtown.

Dune buggies in the desert was a ton of fun.

Hanging at the pools is a blast and great people watching.

Just bouncing between different poker rooms is a fun activity.

Fremont St is worth a visit.

Never been, but the Neon Museum is supposed to be pretty cool, especially at night

Have been in the day. Very good.
  • Plastic horses (Sigma Derby) upstsirs at The D
  • 7 hands of Blackjack on a terminal at once in MGM Grand. SE of the poker room I think.
Can't remember anything else, for some reason.

You forgot Thunder From Down Under. He might be homesick.
 :whistling:
Hmmmmm thunder from down under sounds like it might be a different genre than somewhere like spearmint rhino. Maybe I’ll send the wife there lol

I highly suggest going up to the top of the stratosphere. It has a very Jetsons like feel to it. You can watch crazy em effers bungie off of it. You can go out on the roof top and have 360* view of Vegas. I've gone the last 2 times I was in Vegas and will probably do it again next time I go. There's also a 360* rotating restaurant at the top.....food is decent but overpriced....you are paying for the experience though. I suggest setting up your dining time about an hour before sun down if you do it

Fremont street for 1 afternoon into evening.

High roller is another cool experience.

You must see "O" at the Bellagio it is fantastic. Pony up for seats close to the front if you can.

- WSOP stacks

- Playing video poker with my brother
- Laughing at the rocks in low limit holdem games as I put in a straddle
- Convincing a rock to put in a straddle at low limit holdem so I can put in a second straddle
- The Pint (Charleston and Hualapai) after a long night of gambling
- Shooting guns out at Lovell Canyon

- Driving the Burro Wash Road down to the Colorado River after dark
- Driving over Mt Charleston to Mountain Spring and posing for pictures with Smokey the Bear

burger Black Tap in Venetian, conveniently right next to the Poker Room

Any of the Cirque shows would be great.

If you're staying for more than just a night or two, and given how far Vegas is from home, you may well be, you should consider renting a car and taking a day trip. All times of the year, there are interesting outdoor places to visit and they are close enough to make it home for a shower and a nice dinner. Red Rock Canyon, Mt Charleston, Death Valley, or Zion National Park (my favorite). They make a great break from the crowds.

The wife was talking about black tap this morning. Her friend told her about it.

I’ve got enough myVEGAS points for 2 tickets to cirque, so I’ll be doing that for sure.

I’ll have a hire car for the entire time. 7 days solo in Vegas and 3 with the wife. We will be coming back for the final 3 days via Death Valley so I’ll check that out for sure.

Eat at the Voo Doo lounge at the top of the Rio. Make sure it is a later dinner reservation. Then you can get into the bar/club for free since you are already there. The view is incredible. If you feel adventurous you can do the zip line while up there.

I personally love Hash House and would also add the Peppermill to the list as well. Either way breakfast is my favorite meal when in Vegas!

O at the bellagio is fantastic. So is the cirque type show at the Wynn.
Fleming’s steakhouse is really good. Lemon cake is a must if you go.

Thanks guys

This has turned out very well. I’ve got tonnes of good suggestions already.

I am looking forward to breakfast in Vegas I must say. Breakfast is the best meal

Buy online Las vegas Advisor coupon book for 37$ and chase down all the good match play and free play deals

Video Poker downtown at 2nd flr Vue Bar at the D. Watch Noobs come up the outdoor escalator and not be able to get back out.

VP at Main St. Station antique marble Bar.....Good 9-6 paytables.

poker at Golden Nugget. 1-2 No max buy in.

El Cortez 3AM. Watch the crazies.

Drink Free 10$ Raspberry Framboise at M Resort 32 Degree bar while playing 50c VP. Make SURE you eat their buffet....Sunday is amazing.

Shake Shack burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had.
I'd plan to eat at Ocean One inside Planet Hollywood as many times as possible. ($10 for 3 drinks, $6 lunch meals that are seriously good, $10-$11 for dinner menu items) - Best place to eat in Vegas as far as value and quality go IMO... Actually, best place in the world as far as that goes.

The Wynn was my fav place for tournaments, but I didn't play at Aria.
MGM for ~$100 tourneys with what seemed to always be a pretty recreational field.

Man, I wanna go back now

Don’t worry I’ve remembered the food tips you told me. I’ve got a few sandwiches from those menus I want to smash lol.

Yard bird at the Venetian is another excellent breakfast if your not looking to bust your gut.

Hash House can be incredible or very underwhelming depending on what you get. If you go with basic eggs and pancakes it average and over priced.

But if you get a shareable plate like Andy’s Sage Fried Chicken it a incredible!!! And be sure to wash it down with the BLT Bloody Mary. It is a must for me every trip.
