Taj Mahal liquidation sale coming soon (1 Viewer)

I will be there as doors open to try to get a poker table...if they are indeed selling them. If not, oh well I drove 40 minutes for nothing. But based on prices I'm seeing for furniture sets, tables may not be as high priced as one would think

Some poker chairs here...

Having a table from the Taj would be both nostalgic and a piece of poker history, particularly with scenes from Rounders having been shot there.

Having a chair from the Taj would be to invite AIDS into your home.

I'll bet the tables are full of aids as well.

Also, these are hopefully not the same tables that were in rounders. That movie is 20 years old.

I wouldn't even drink bottled water at the Taj, but I guess for a piece of poker history, I'm willing to have an STD infected table in my home.

It is believed that the tables and chairs with the "AIDS" were replaced in 2015 when the poker room was shut down for a complete remodel. Photos of workers in white hazmat suits supports this. A few articles suggest the room reopened in May 2016 with new tables and chairs before the casino closed a few months later.

If true might be a great place to snag chairs.

Atlantic City gaming tokens are always live, all the time, even after a casino closes. I think. They will collect and destroy them all.

If they are the same tables they were refelted. Rounders tables are green. Tables when the place closed were a brown color.

Since it was my favorite poker room I'll take the AIDS infested table if I can get it for the price I'm hoping for

Pretty sure if there were any Haz Mat suits it was from mold. Just did not get the mention of AIDS. Not something I found funny having had a family member die from it many years ago from a blood transfusion.

OK Carry on

What condition are the chairs in. I was going to take a ride down there today.

How fast are things selling? I know they want everything gone. Will be interesting to see when and how much those prices go down.

I wonder how much for the sideways scribble carpet?

Chairs are in great shape. Take them home and spray them down with lysol and wipe them down with Clorox wipes...scrape the gum off the bottom and they are good to go.

It's open for 30 days. The line was long when I got there before they opened at 10am. I was the 2nd wave in. By the time I left the line was just as long as when I got there. Much if it is people who want to just go in and walk around to see the place one last time then leave. Lots of people buying stuff too. But still I predict it'll take them at least a week or more to sell everything. For certain items they said they have nearly 1000 of some of them likes lamps and chairs and things.

You can buy just about anything. They are even selling the chandeliers for 7k a piece. Paintings, beds, dressers, you name it...they clearly want to dump everything. However it looks like other casino items like blackjack tables and chairs are off limits. My guess is Hard Rock will be refelting them and using them.

They had at least 30-40 poker tables and I heard rumors there were more they'd put out. At the price range I can see them sitting there for awhile. It looked like a lot of people were interested but walked away when they saw the price.

You actually can buy carpet...not even kidding. No idea on price though.

In terms of the tables they are nice, however they were either refelted or had the Taj logo stripped off because they are just blank tan colored felts. If I had the money today I would have gotten one.

Will I have the money and take a 2nd trip down there tomorrow? We'll have to wait and see.
