It looks like the vast majority of you use the oval shape (casino style) tables for home games. My question is, do you use a full-time dealer? If so, does the dealer also play? Is he paid to only deal?

I've always used a round (or octagon) table for my home games. We rotate dealers around the table. I can't imagine trying to deal from one of the ends of a long table. Also, scooping up a pot from the end must be difficult. You'd have to have someone in the middle push the chips your way.

We use a 60" round for self-dealt games and an oval for games with a dealer. I have never liked oval tables for self-delt games. Just too many dealing problems.

Small oval (stadium), 44 x 66. Seats up to 8. Self-dealt game.

My next table (I'm being optimistic) will be round, probably around 54".

I play on a standard oval and I'm the dedicated dealer and I play. I don't take any cut for dealing because I just like to handle the cards and chips and make sure the game flows smoothly

No. Eight comfortably, nine a bit cramped. I used to have a 66” for 10 players but you couldn’t reach the middle to rake the pot.
