Table categories (1 Viewer)

as a human factors enthusiast... I just don't like how Bronze Jack sounds in my head... it seems very awkward and off-putting... possibly move the colors up one?
The Silver Jack
The Gold Queen
The Platinum King
The Diamond Ace (lol @ excalibur, but it kinda throws off the theme doesn't it?)

...and of course, you can do a special model for the europeans called the Royale with Cheese...

P.S. it's 320am... why the hell am I awake... this table-building nonsense has got my mind in overdrive...

Yeah I think the flow gets broken up when switching from the Royals over to the ExcAlibur, but the Excalibur is so cool.

I liked the idea @allforcharity threw out there for Cleopatra as the Q and Excalibur as the Ace. Not so much for the K and J though as they're both not as well known and obvious. I had an idea of replacing the Q image with an image of Cleopatra, and doing the same with J and K if I could find a matching name/character.

However, I think Excalibur might still work because it's a separate 4th category. I'm going to have the 3 levels in oval, then the same 3 levels in round/octagon and then a 7th category which is unique as a fully customizable build whereas the others have more limited choices.

At the moment, this is what it looks like and I'm finding it too plain.

This makes sense in general, though I 'm not a native English speaker to judge if, currently, hustler is superior to gambler.
I thought hustlers were petty crooks, but that might be true 40 years ago, when I was learning English.:)

Yeah.. using people is difficult. I'm trying to make sure it's someone everyone knows. I don't think there's anyone who doesn't know Cleopatra, but I'm also trying to relate to people outside of North America.

Isn't the 100% customized the Royale with Cheese?

And yes, yes it is. Especially since the other categories are the Royal(e)s. If Excalibur doesn't flow, then I will probably use Royale with Cheese for the 100% custom option. Again, I'm trying to make it understandable to everyone, but it won't really translate for anyone who hasn't seen Pulp Fiction in all it's awesomeness.

Jack Sparrow and King Arthur... boom...

The Nicholson
The RuPaul
The Lawler
The Excalibur

So I thought I had made up my mind, but the gears keep turning.

I'm now considering:

Robin Hood (Jack) or James Bond 007
Cleopatra (Queen)
King Arthur (King)
Excalibur (Ace) or Royale with Cheese (Royals with a little extra) or.... James Bond 007. Although James Bond isn't as "high" as some of the others, he's more synonymous with a casino I think.

I might add suits to them, or precious metals/gems such as the bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, etc..

I think that all of these characters are mostly globally recognizable. Just have to add some artwork for the buttons on the website.

I hate to say it but you might be over thinking it. All the rewards programs used some bronze/silver/gold/platinum/emerald/diamond/elite/double whatever/triple whatever and probably don’t want to stray too far from those if looking for universal understanding.

Contemplating adding a border around the categories, but not much space left.

From a strictly marketing standpoint I think there needs to be more information on the page. Aside from the price I won't know what differentiates each tier. Maybe shrink the custom box down so you can fit a few bullet points for each tier along with the price. You can also make the shapes bulleted hyperlinks to save some space as well.

great point. I have no idea what the categories mean from the screen shot. What makes them different?

There is a starting price listed for the custom tables. You may want to add that for the other tables as well so people at least realize they are different levels of tables.

Yes there is going to be a price listed under each card which will make it obvious that the jack is the low level table and the king is the high end. I left the empty grey space to be filled with the price.

Bullet points is a good idea, though each category still has different options available so the list would be really long. I think I would just let customers snoop around to see what is available on each category.

The bullet points could just be an overview of the differences. Doesn't need to actually list all of the options. Just a quick way to differentiate beyond the price.

The main bullet points would be under the Jack tier.

Then the Queen Tier could say: "everything under the Jack tier, PLUS..."
And the King Tier could say: "everything under the Queen tier, PLUS..." or however it works
The Ace wouldn't need to say anything, because it's fully custom.

Just call Full Custom the “Genie” option... Your Wish Is Our Command!

In all seriousness, names are good, but I share the above sentiment about clarifying the benefits of each category in bullet point form to make it clear at first glance for a potential buyer.

The Genie... I love it!

There's enough feedback that I will be sure to include that into the categories for clarification. I'm even considering replacing the images of the cards with images of the tables, showing something more basic, a mid-range table, then a high end table.

I like the simplicity of The Casual, The Gambler, and The Hustler, but I think The Casual sounds a bit cheap. Perhaps move them all down a notch: The Gambler, The Hustler, and The Highroller?

Going to get a lot of Platinum Ace requests as they are the least expensive.

Understandable, however you can build the same table as the other categories though the Platinum Ace option, but the price is higher doing it that way. The pre-set packages are cheaper because they're not fully custom.
