Anyone got any good reviews on any custom poker chip websites? I see a lot of them with a simple google search but I figured I should come here first before pulling the trigger on anything. My budget is probably somewhere around 7-800 USD depending on the quality of course. Looking for the cheapest option which I would assume is ceramic. Ive seen some sites offer as low as 0.30 per chip for 1000 but I am pretty skeptical of the quality.

I typically have 6-8 players at my home game with a buy in of $100.

Welcome!

For that amount of money on the table, I would look into buying chips with some degree of security to them, and not use anything that can be bought in the store or online like dice chips or stocked plastic slugged chips like Monte Carlo. With a budget of up to $800, you can buy a really nice set of ceramics from @BR Pro Poker or @SUN-FLY Poker Chips with your own custom design and colors to make unique chips that can't be found anywhere off the shelf. If anyone tries to make the same chip, they would need your permission to do so.

Happy hunting!

IMO, if your budget is already around $800, I'd seriously consider bumping that up slightly and going with a stock set of minty CPC chips (Classic Poker Chips).

They're the closest thing you'll find to real casino Paulsons. $1100 shipped will net you a nice 600pc set w/ something like 100x 25c, 200x $1, 200x $5, 100x $25.

If used chips are an option however, then the suggestion from @LeLe above is a great solution as well.

You likely don’t need 1000 chips for a 6-8 player cash or tourney game. If you tweak your breakdown, you can probably get by with 600 chips. That opens you up to some higher quality chips if your budget is $800.

Moved ours down to less than 500 chips. I know it doesn't meet some of the theory here but:

100x .25
120x 1.00
100x 2.00
100x 5.00
40x 20.00

At $50 buy-ins and only half the table reloading up to 3 or 4x we have plenty.

The CPC suggestion is great, as is a Sunfly Group Buy, and there will be lots of sets that show up too. This place is all patience and timing.

For many years, my go to breakdown for 25c/50c NLHE was:

100x 25c
120x $1
130x $5
40x $25
10x $100

400 chips. Plays just fine. This allowed me to get my feet wet with nice chips and still have a big enough bank.
