Alert: Travis Anderson posted this on The Chip Board yesterday:

Sadly, my home was burglarized and lost most of what was remaining in my chips collection. Be on the look out in Las Vegas for some of the following:

Paris Jetons - all styles, $5 through $100 (mad about losing these)
T Bird Host chips - 21 different
PMSC chips - NV collection, most of the ones issued, $0.50 ~ $100
Colorado $1 chips, 116 total including Richman and some of the better ones
Cactus Pete's Jackpot Red Sun /wCactus - "Pete Piersanti"
Cal-Neva Reno 4 Accorns w/ .25 in Red
Circus Circus Las Vegas Ringmaster Inlay - 5 Prize Units
Riveria Las Vegas Casino Name w/"R" Crest & Seal in Green/Red
Stardust Lake Tahoe Mutiple Stars of Various Shapes
Stardust Lake Tahoe Mutiple Stars of Various Shapes

Thanks

Travis

I hope his chips will be recovered quickly.

This is such a small, esoteric market that it will take some time and expertise to fence these. I'm going with either these have since been dumped as worthless or it's an "inside job" by someone who knew of the collection and a way to discretely dispose of its components. If it's the former it's possible the thief thought they were live chips.

In between reading collection and "(not mine)" portion my stomach sank. Sucks for him, but glad it wasn't you!

That's exactly why I put "not mine" in the subject.

I realize it's a remote possibility that any of our members might see these listed on eBay or Craig's List. How awful it would be if it was an inside job.

I recently(summer 2016) endured the same tragedy. All of my chips, electronics and anything that could be pawned or probably traded for drugs, GONE:(.....I still look on eBay to find my collection of individuals as a lot or...individually sold. I've called and gone to every pawn, antique, consignment and coin shop in the greater salt lake area. I had just convinced GM/head honcho Jackie Price of Rainbow, Peppermill, and Montego Bay in Wendover to let me buy multiple racks of Rainbows $1 chips for my small ball cash game. Luckily I had only walked out with a rack +extras that last visit prior to the break in. I'm sure those went right back into their inventory only 100% cleaned and oiled. It really sucks having your castle violated as king not to defend it, but what really hurts is the fact that whoever that asshole is, took very sentimental, irreplaceable, tangible memories for their fix or whatever is more important than them selves . On the positive note, I and nobody in my humble abode were physically hurt or killed. And I've begun a new journey of clay compression that's treating me lovely. My heart goes out to all and any who have had such events happen to them, and remember that if you are breathing. ....The glass is always half full...:D

The reason the I haul my entire chip collection to and from Denver each summer is because of theft and fire danger. You never know if someone will go after the stuff when I'm gone. My dad has a security system and Cujo waiting for anyone trying to gain entrance in AZ. No way I lose those to theft in AZ.
