So, I am working on my first custom tournament set, and have a few mockups. While nothing is in stone, I really like some of the colors, and would be hesitant to change. These chips are based on some of my favorite chips..

The T100 is based on the non-hold'em WSOP T100 chip.
The T1000 and T5000 is based on the Spotted Aztar Tournament Set (using red, yellow, and black for MD colors).
The white T500 mock is based on the Dunes $500 chip.
The T25,000 is based on the PCA $5. (Which I'm not sold on)

The bounty chip is a placeholder for now, and it will have a complex pattern. it will match in some regards to the tournament set.

I have 5 mocks, and it has been a while since I have built a set. Any constructive feedback is welcome. Do you like consistent spots on the tournament set, or a mix? 4 mockups carry the consistent spot pattern, while the last has a mix.

The inlay is still under development, and I don't have anything to show yet.

Thoughts?

Every single time I start tinkering with ideas it always starts out as same edgespots and I am always very happy with them... until I start adding in different ones. Then it's over :)

Due to that I will go with your last mockup. The 25 is nice though I prefer butterscotch to chocolate almost all the time. The 100 is a bit ho-hum. The 500 is nice but on a TA316 I much prefer three different colors... too much like the V pattern otherwise. Also not a fan of DG tiger on consecutive chips. Love the 1000. 5000 is nice. Really dig the 25,000, nice classy look to the 5K and 25K after popping colors on the previous two.

Like both number 3 and number 5. But I'm a fan of "quieter" edge spots, which not everyone is. Really like the color choices on the blurple chip.

Broadly a little heavy on yellows and red/orange tones across the line ups for my tastes.

I'm not crazy about using the same colors on adjacent chips either, like DG Tiger spot > DG Tiger base

Looking forward to seeing what you cook up! :)

I love the start honestly. I would narrow it down to #1 or #3 with a slight preference to 1. Colors look great to me with just a few tweaks.

So,
I've been playing around with this a little more. I really like the 3D316 spot pattern, and will keep that constant for the tournament set.

My big question now... Yellow T1000 and Tiger T5000, or Tiger T1000 and Yellow T5000?????

I prefer Yellow T1000s.

When the blinds get big, you rarely hear anyone say "I raise, 5000" or "I raise "15 thousand". It's "I raise 5" or "15". For this reason, I like variants on the "correct" colors when the "thousand" moniker is dropped. Yellow is close to white. Orange is close to Red. Your Blue is close enough to Green for the T25k and Heavy doses of Black make the T100k very T100,000-esque.

The last chip would be the bounty chip ... :-)

I just like the flow with the canary T1000. It separates the alternative of having a T500 with the tiger spots and the tiger T1000 right next to each other.

In non-optimal lighting you could potentially have a major issue with the 100 and the 5K
Good point... scrapping the white 5k...

I love the tiger chip, again, modeled after my all time favoritest chip. Seeing that the Atlantic Club set I have has Tiger 1ks... I might leave that and use the yellow 5k.

I was playing with the color sample, and damn, Tiger looks good on almost every color ... almost

I love that chip too, I would most definitely find a way to get it into your set where you want it. I'm definitely not against a yellow 5k if it meant that was where you wanted the tiger to be.

Ok, I have this 75% ready. Waiting on the design, but that is expected.

I'm torn between these 2 T500 chips. I won't give the rest away.

Which goes better? The purple sample I have looks darker, and fear that it might be too dark to have the black spots. I also fear that the lavender might be too close to the gray.

Thoughts???

Mark,

The base for my Bill's Haus $25 is purple, as is the base for the Nirvana t500. the spot on the Bill's Haus $100 is lavender, if that helps you out at all...

Something seems slightly off about the purple / lavender coming after the gray. I don't know what it is.

Every time I think Lavender looks better I keep second guessing myself. Maybe a third base color instead?

Am I crazy? Does something seem strange going from gray to purple? Lol

Edit: I think the black edge spot is throwing me off on both color choices.

Okay, I think it's definitely that black edge spot on the 500.

I don't know whether replacing that with another color is negotiable or not in your progression. But if it is, maybe try another color ? I think the green counterpart looks fantastic with either purple or lavender.

Edit: sorry, I think I'm thinking too hard about this

All of my other chips are set. The 500 was my last decision point. :-)

Thanks all, going with Lavender. I agree, i think it looks the best as well.

I might offer a few "sight unseen" samples once I place the order.

The final does not match the above mock ups

:-)
