I was a big fan of the light blue Orleans buyin chips (RHC mold) when David Spragg made them available a couple of months back, and thought they would be perfect for a fracs relabel project. I couldn't really visualize how they would look as quarters, but snagged up a bunch when @Psypher1000 offered some to me. After some ultrasonic cleaning and oiling, they were ready to go.

I finished the first 200 this weekend, and I have to say they fit the SPM set damn well. Dare I say, I think I may like these even more than the custom CPC quarters coming in next month (but I'll withhold judgement until they arrive).

Here is a first photo with the @Gear label...

More pr0n to come with the entire set soon!

The FDL chips I have already do not feel lighter than the SDPMs. I think the difference in diameter on label vs. Inlays would drive me a little more nutso than the weight difference. How much larger is the label vs. the inlay. It is noticeable.

Here is one of my FDL's I initially had made by CPC - this chip is one of twenty that has been extensively and excessively shuffled for over a year. Inlay almost the exact same size as the SDPM inlay.

I went with a bit larger sticker, because I don't like the "space" around the label - I wanted it to be a snug fit in the recess, like the official SDPMs. I used 1.12" as a cut size with Gear, which is a bit more than 1-1/16". The official SDPMs are a little less than 1-1/16". It's noticeable if you sit and compare the two, but for some reason it doesn't tilt my OCD-meter like the lighter weight CPCs do. The slightly larger diameter of the FDLs (compared to the SDPMs) also bug me a bit. That's just me though.

I'm not complaining though... my CPC quarters and nickels will see plenty of play. I just wanted a Paulson option for the set.

FWIW - I like the light blue better - but didn't want to miss out on the group buy chips either so I'll have both just like you have only both mine will be CPC. I may have Gear make labels for my 414's. When I had my quarters made I had no idea We could finagle the SDPM artwork like we ended up with or my initial quarters would have had that instead.

I'm with you on this. In hindsight I feel like I got sucked into the "hype" that was swirling around thew new DayGlow Blue color, and went along with the voting crowd for the GB. I think I really prefer the light blue for quarters in this set. The DGBlue may pop just a bit too much against the other colors. Oh well. It is what it is at this point.

I think the GB chips will look fine man. I'll be glad to have them and appreciate your effort bringing them to life. It's all good.

FWIW - once we had the min numbers if it is like any other CPC order I've ever made we could have had a different color combo per 100 chips. I was thinking DG Tiger with Black stripes the other day would have looked very cool also.

That was the exact reason I bought them. I'd love to get some more of those 414-spotted Good Luck Club RHC 10's and relabel them again, but the odds of me finding those again in quantity are low so these seemed like a great option at a pretty reasonable price.

I hope you don't think I created the 'hype'... When asked, I just mentioned I favored the Peacock, for the color smoothness and to differentiate from the $25s a little better... FWIW, I think both blues would look good...

Hahahaa... I'm not complaining nor am I "blaming" anyone!!!! Just one of those, "oh crap, did I make the right decision?!?!?!?!?!" moments. I'm always second guessing. :p

Seriously - I'm still totally stoked on our CPC SDPM FRAC GB.

(we should start a glossary page to decode some of our abbreviations!) :D

Those Orleans chips look stellar with that set. If anyone has a few extra, please let me know so I can complete my quarter relabel as well! (/endthreadjack/)
