Stamp chips with paint? (1 Viewer)

I've come across some chips over the years that look hot stamped but are actually just stamped with gold ink or paint. It can be removed with rubbing alcohol, and while not perfect, if it could be redone with my own design it could be a lot cheaper than hot stamping.

Anyone know an easy way to do this?

I recall some discussions here and on CT regarding StazOn ink, which members have used with some success. I've never tried it. YMMV.

Abby beat me to it. You can buy basic rubber ink stamps and permanent ink pads at most hobby stores.

I don't think that's right. I have chips with no recess that have been hotstsmped.

No. TRK small crowns have no recess and are (were) hot stamped. They needed to be scraped after stamping though.
