First, we want to thank everyone for weighing in on this thread. We see lots of familiar faces and appreciate everyone’s input. Of course, we are human. There is a new shipping guy. Just for the record, we took him out back today and took care of that problem. As the outfits have always said, forget about it.

Just for everyone’s future reference, I want everyone to know the following about Spinettis shipping policies:

Anyone who orders a rack or more of casino chips will receive their chips in a chip box.

If you order a rack of casino chips or more and it’s above $69, you qualify for free shipping. All of these orders that only include casino chips are sent with a two day express shipping method.

Customers who pay for our protection are insuring their order value 100 percent were it to get lost or damaged in transit. We buy insurance from the shipping company for those orders that have insurance on them. We recommend the insurance so that we can easier resolve any shipping issue that comes up because they do happen. However, taking the insurance is optional and your choice. Additionally, these are not cheap items. Depending on the amount of the order, some insurance levels are more expensive than others to cover your order 100 percent.

We send our racks of casino chips in already manufactured used chip boxes. However, for the next 2 months, to show our commitment to the PCF community, we are going to send all orders for PCF customers in our brand new Paulson style card board chip boxes at no additional charge to you.

I've only ordered from Spinetti's once, for a barrel or two worth, but they were shipped promptly, professionally, and carefully.

I've ordered from TCR a couple times, and even if the chips were packed without a box, they were packed very well and very tightly in multiple padded envelopes. They were highly durable Bud Jones roulettes so I wasn't too worried about potential shipping damage.

I only ever worry about packages from non-collectors like you find on Craigslist, FB Marketplace, and sometimes eBay, too. I try to pre-empt any problems by requesting certain packaging techniques that would minimize problems.

Valid point, but then again TCR prices are usually at bottom of market prices, and spinettis is on the top. And at the premium price I would expect a lot more from spinettis to be honest.

And I believe TCR have now started to use the white chip boxes as well it seems like. At least for the last sale. Hope Jim keeps using those in his big sales going forward.

My last chiproom TCR purchase came in the exact boxes right here, labels and all.

From my experience with Jim at TCR with my many orders, he has always shipped with racks of chips in boxes (usually labeled!!), lots of packing material and misc chips wrapped in a padded envelope in the FRB. Even when the corners of the box are beaten to hell by USPS, the chips arrive just fine. And I'm confident that if there ever was an issue with damage, Jim would step up and take care of it without question.
 
my first shipping experience with spinettis years ago was not good.. bunch of expensive chips thrown in a box.
Had some casualties :( Informed it was a new guy in shipping.
Spinettis made it right by replacing the broken ones. All subsequent shipments (and there have been many ;)) were packed well.

Look I found this box by the dumpster that had only been used three times. I cleaned the banana peels and coffee grounds off, and look at what I saved boss!

Sounds like they go through this a lot, every time there is “a new shipping guy”.
People that are not us don’t understand why we would want them to be careful with multi hundred dollar purchases. To them it’s just “stupid poker chips” being bought by “idiots”. And they treat your merchandise with that same attitude. It’s not just spinettis, I’ve had chips from ABC arrived just smashed to dust because they didn’t use any packing. “They” didn’t like the chips so “they” didn’t think it was worth adding packing, even though I valued them enough to pay their asking price for them

To be honest , anyone who sells chips and thinks this way should stop selling chips.
If you’re not passionate about you’re product that you’re selling , you will never reach the succes you might be able to reach. But good point , just stupid to anyone who treats these chips as they where stupid toy things. This hobby is already expensive enough , and receiving them nicely in a professional package just make you forget a little bit on the $$$ you spent on them because you’re happy and that’s what count on the end of the day.
 
I'll reiterate that every other shipment I had from spinettis (maybe over 20) were all packed well, with no issues.
It was a one off. They apologized and replaced the broken chips. Happy customer.
