It seems that I have converted three of my donkeys in Dhahran to fans of SOHE. After a 4 hour session of NLHE I declared we were switching to SOHE. One nit racked up and left (permabanned from special event games for eternity now) leaving four of us. I wanted to speed the game and we were really drunk so was wondering what you guys do.

First, we didn't run anything more than once. Maf is hard. At showdown, everybody just flipped their O hand and then we did the same for the HE. Takes the fun of the slow roll away but baby steps are in order. lastly, non dealers were stacking the pot so chip splitting was half done. Would any of this tilt you SOHE vets?

@Chippy McChiperson ? World champ, care to weigh in.

None of that would tilt me. But if you want it to run faster, go with SOLHE...... fewer split pots, and it makes setting your hand a whole new experience.

Slisk - what you're describing is pretty standard. It's a slower game but it's a helluva lotta fun.

Sounds about right to me. We just declare what we have (show it face up)we don't necessarily show the Omaha hand first. If the other guys can't beat it they muck.

Yeah, the other 3 liked it a bunch. We ended up playing another 2 hours with the stacks going up and down and at least one player all in most hands. Most hands were splits, only a couple scoops.

Simultaneous Omaha-Low & Hold'Em

Omaha side plays low only with 8 qualifier. If no low on board, Hold'em side scoops. Much more interesting game imo.

Wow that has got to be a sick game. I presume that straights and flushes don't count against you just like in O8.

The more you play it the smoother it will go. We do it similar to your way.

I'm on a two week stretch of no poker. Starting to get antsy

Head asplode.

My hot take is SOHE should be a limit game, not pot-limit. And LOL that it gets smoother the more you play it. Does Monopoly or Risk take under an hour to play with experience players?
