I've been getting into mixed games a lot recently and even have revisited some wildcard games I used to play with my family when I was a kid. These days I'm personally not into wildcard games but to each his own! So, I took some of my family's games and tweaked them a little to resemble more professional mixed games.
Feel free to use this as a thread to add your favorite mixed/home/wildcard game!
Here is my first submission:
*Good Guy/Bad Guy*
(I renamed this game as "Horserace" in my home game because the constant back and forth nature of the hand reminds me of a horse race
- Deal four cards per player
- Deal two five-card boards on top of each other; top board is dead bottom board is live
- Bet begins left of dealer or big blind, depending on the betting structure being used
- Turn one card on each board, discarding dead cards from the live board
- Player's do not discard but may no longer use dead cards to make a hand
- Highest five card poker hand wins, highest four card hand wins if no five card hand, and so on
- Basic strategy is to ignore straights as the total loss of ranks makes straights difficult; Flushes aren't as difficult but still more difficult than normal
