Hey everyone,

Just curious about a couple things regarding high end plastic playing cards. I have had Kem, Modiano, Copag, and Fournier's in the past but sadly after several moves, and half a lifetime, those are long lost. Anyway, I'm back in the market for some cards, and I was wondering, is there a specific style or design that has that yellowish center square? I really love the designs and art on Copag's for instance, but they have the plain white center which was disappointing. I'm not sure what it is, but I really dig that colored in center square when the board is spread out on the felt, just adds some nice contrast imo. Is it just certain decks have those colored in centers, or is it a specific style that spans across certain brands? Excuse me if this is a super noob question, just have been out of the loop a long time.

cheers

here are 2 examples of what I mean, in case my super descriptive "yellowish centers" didn't fully hit home for you ;) (Also, does anyone know which deck this is from shark cage?)

Welcome back!

The two examples you posted are the Fournier 2818 series of playing cards on the left, and while the exact Shark Tank cards cannot be purchased, cards with the same font and face designs that you're after can be had, but neither are particularly easy to find.

You can find the Fournier cards on eBay, there's a guy in Lithuania that sells them at a bit of a premium, but ships free and gives bulk discounts if you buy lots. The cards on the right are Cartamundi casino stock that can be purchased only on pokerstore.nl, a Dutch shop, here:

https://www.pokerstore.nl/poker-cards/carta-mundi/cartamundi-plastic-casino-playing-cards-red.html

Of course, shipping is at a premium for these cards coming from Europe, but they're both well worth it for some excellent quality cards.

If you're just looking for some cards with a cream colored center that are more accessible, Copag has some bridge size designs that fit the bill. That said, I recommend @desjgn , one of the vendors here that has offerings for both poker and bridge size cards with the cream colored centers you're looking for.

Happy hunting!

cheers, thanks for the info, I really appreciate it!!

Hey I found a so called North American distributor for Fournier here at https://www.customtablesusa.com/ I ordered from them last night so let's see how it goes

EDIT: the website just sent me an email. It said they are not currently taking online orders and to cancel my PayPal payment to them. Oh well. At least they were honest and didn't try to just pocket my money and run.

Womp womp, at least they let you know like you said. Still frustrating though.

Cards from Shark Cage are most likely made by Playtronic (RDFI) , they have all feature of Cartamundi fonts and indexes.
