i do not believe so
i only remember the sidepot 'new mold contest' @ HPC: only the winner was bound --not the competitors.
for some reason I forget the later chiptalk spots/inlay competition legals

Was going thru old email and found this.

Background: A few of us CTers were helping Apache with suggestions on color combos for the suits mold chip lines via email discussion.

This is what GPI eventually approved. There was a very limited number of base/edgespot colors and edgespots available. Even then, they shot down some of the other requests we had.
