Solid chips (1 Viewer)

When the right shades are put together they are pure class.

I'm working on three solid sets at the moment. One Paulson (12 colors) "utility set" large enough to use either as cash or tourney or other table games. The other two are BCC T-molds sets, one cash and one tourney. All three sets to be milled & labeled.

Solids ftw!

Yup. Not that I don’t appreciate edgespots, I just always gravitate to solids...

Immpretty sure theres a “solids” thread ive seen where everyone posts pics of there solids. I think they look very sharp. Someone has a set of plain solids. Very cool

Id like to see some solid plain hotstamps! Dought anyone has those

I'm currently at something like 12 sets (you might have a problem when you are no longer sure). All sets have edgespots. While I aspire to have something of each type of chip (ABS, Ceramic, China Clay, Hotstamps, etc...), solids are the only chip type I do not care to own.

That said, there are a couple of compelling solid sets out there. The Sunsets which are more like small pictures in a simple clay frame, and the rustic Hitching Post come to mind. Those are well-themed though, and spots would detract from that theme.

The rest of the time, spots help players make better estimations of opponents' stacks, add an extra layer of security against dirty stacks, and basically look intentional.

I really like solids. I think a cpc solid set is a great choice and I actually prefer them to overdone edge spots. Proper spots are awesome but I feel that edge spots (especially on cpc chips) must be carefully planned out because colors can easily create dirty stack issues.

If I were to get a set of solids, they'd have to be hotstamps!

I'm the opposite. I have little love for any hot stamp chips. (I know, I know, don't hate me.) Solids with a good label however, have a special allure.

Without looking at your join date, I know that you are new to chipping. Most, if not all of us, disliked hotstamps initially. Over time, many learn to appreciate them. I guess they're like coffee or beer. Nobody likes it at first, but after a while you can get hooked.

I have always preferred solids...

I’ve always had a soft spot for hotstamped solids. In fact, when I recently cut my chip collection in half, one of the five keeper sets was a set of hotstamped solids. Technically they were tournament chips, but they work well as a smaller stakes cash set too using the NCV blues as a frac. Old-school leaded casino Paulsons FTW!

Full breakdown is 100/200/500/50/50, but the case only holds two-thirds of them
