Welcome! What were you searching for that lead you to us?
PCF is awesome full of great people and tons of information!

Here's my back story, lol. I literally knew nothing about chips. I took a trip to Vegas a few weeks ago. I figured being in Vegas, I can get the "real deal" poker chips that are used in the casino's. I went to one of those gambler stores and ended up buying the Monte Carlo chips, since I was dead set on buying a set before coming back home. Used the chips a few times and they felt better than like the plastic cheapy ones, you can buy at the souvenir stores, but not like the same casino chips.

I started googling and found the same chips I bought for like half the price I paid and I was no closer to having the "real" chips. lol.

I went to eBay and just typed in casino chips and kept seeing the name Paulson in the title.

From there I googled Paulson casino chips and that led me to this forum and realized I have much to learn about chips. lol

Welcome to this great site and the start of a wild ride, if you stick around long enough.....

Good to see another SoCal person...

Bummer!!! Hate when that happens to people, you can always hang on to it for a back up or move it on to a new member looking for a set of that style. Theres definitely so much to learn about chips, and there have been many different manufacturers over the years, so it's all about finding what you like and reaching your goals!!!

Welcome aboard!

I'm from OC, a long, long time ago, and have some relatives who work at Pechanga.

Sorry to hear that @freebird27, when I first saw that u had taken a trip to Vegas for some "Real deal Holyfield" chips i thought u were gonna pocket & take home chips from an actual casino (which a lot of us do AKA harvesting.)

Glad to see you've learned of the Paulson name n have already moved on to a set of Garden City chips. Miyagi have much hope for you Freebird-san.
Welcome to the rabbit hole brotha.

Welcome to the forum! Lots of information on chips, and looking through the media at pictures is cool too.

Where did you play in Vegas? What were your favorite moments?

It literally didn't even cross my mind to do that, (seems so obvious to do now, lol) I thought I could just buy some identical chips at one of the gambling stores. I go to back to Vegas fairly often, I have family that lives there and for work, I end up going every few months. I will start collecting on my next trip.

This last trip we all went out to celebrate my step-daughters 21st bday. I didn't do any playing, just alot of partying, lol. We all just went for the weekend, Friday, we did the high roller happy hour. Then on Sat, we all went to the hakkasan club. I haven't been to a club for like literally 15 years, lol, felt kinda funny been in one after all this time.
