Small stakes cash set, 5 cent chip or 10 cent chip? (1 Viewer)

I shouldn't say pro, but I have had a number of players thank me for running a game right. One did it in writing, because she was so thankful. Many have pish-awed the idea of playing in a casino before ever playing, and have since played - and one called out a dealer error (and supported by the floor) - because she was confident in the rules.

Knowing is half the battle.

Give your player the ammo to win.
Very kool. My next step is playing in a casino.

For NL20 (0.10 - 0.20), I prefer to use a 10c chip config.
10c / 50c / 1 / 5 / 20(or 25)

With this, you can cover :
NL10 (10c - 10c)
NL20 (10c - 20c)
NL50 (50c - 50c)
NL100 (50c - 1)

That's what I did for my 2 cash game sets :

With a 5c chip, and a config with 5c / 25c / 1 / 5 / 20(or 25) you can cover :
NL5 (0.05-0.10)
NL10 (0.05-0.10)
NL25 (0.25-0.25)
NL50 (0.25-0.50)
NL100 (1-1)

Personnally I prefer a 10c chip over a 5c because :
- NL20 was my main game and I wanted a distinct small and big blind for this limit
- I never play NL5
- Cash out are easier with 10c chip over a 5c chip

So it just depends on your needs.

I get the practicality of .05/ .25/1/5 or .10/ .50/2 but if I am running a .05/.10 game if I have .25 and .50 in play then would this bring to many different chips to the game and the .50 is pointless or does this work? Would go 1/5 after this

The .50 chip in that scenario is just going to make you make change for it more often - don't bother.

How we’re all these made? All custom? CPC?

That’s awesome just read through the first few pages of the group buy thread. Not enough time to go through all 131 pages. But those look awesome! Looking for micro cash set. Can’t really find anything
There will be another round for that group buy. Search for "the reckoning". It is a new thread.

I'm a fan of 5c. 25cents.

Mainly because we occasionally play dealer choice nickel, dime, quarter. And HORSE With .5cents and .25cents. Which create deep deep stacks. Tons of chips is always more fun!!!!

Thanks for the responses so far. Yes, my other chips will be .25, $1, $5. I would think the question of whether to use a .05 or .10 chip strictly depends on the blinds my group would be comfortable playing? For example, if they would prefer to play .05/.10, then of course I should go with a .05 chip instead of .10. But if we go with .10/.20, then there is no good reason to go with .05 chips at all, is there? It seems that if I go with .10 chips, then I could get away with buying less than if I went with .05. I guess the .05 would of course be more flexible though. Looking for info from people who play low stakes cash, since I don't.
I would say go with 5cent. Don't ever play 10/20 . If not playing 5/10 then play 10/25
