Small Custom Set (1 Viewer)

Okay . . . 2014 has been good to me, and I am thinking of getting a small Custom set made. I am hoping to keep it down to 300 chips, but can go to 500 if necessary. It just means waiting a little longer to take the plunge. Target date for this is Spring 2015, so I am giving my self some time to work EVERYTHING out, and I am hopeful you folks will help me do just that.

First things first: This is intended to be a cash game set. I want 4 different chips. Not fussy if these end up as denominated chips, or if I just go with a clean logo instead. Looking at quarters, dollars, fives and twenties. One thought I did have is that the chip for the quarters would be a 1/4 pie, the dollar would be a 1/2 pie, and the two other chips would be solids. Mostly thinking that way because I suck at getting edge spot progressions to look cohesive.

Should add that this is obviously going to be a single table set only (likely 8 max.)

just my opinion, but 1/4 pie -> 1/2 pie -> solid -> solid is guaranteed to be worse than virtually any other spot "progression" you could come up with. nothing wrong with doing all solids or all the same spot if you want to keep it really simple.

unless you have a holistic idea already of what you want, i'd first determine the inlay design. that will set you in the right direction to determine which edgespots - if any - best suit the set.

Do you know of a chip design that you really like?
I started designing a set about 6 months ago and found a combination of the chips I like and started there, now I have a concept that is outstanding.
Play with the CPC chip designer http://www.classicpokerchips.com/pokerchips/realclaypokerchips.htm post some screen shots and watch the fireworks as people chime in and give some good ideas...

To be honest the 1/4, 1/2, solid idea just popped into my head. I have seen examples of both that I like very much. As background, I have the Jubilee 1/4 pie ceramics designed by Gary @ Unique. I thought about all solids, as that would correspond with my PCR tourney set, and allow any inlay or hot-stamp design I choose to be the focus

The first chip I truly fell "in love" with, was the President's Casino on the Admiral $1.00 secondary chip. LOVE that metallic gold and dark green on the white chip. Thought of "lifting" combinations directly from casino chips, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having a truly custom set, no?

Okay, so I did a quick mock up on the ChipFactory thingy . . . how do you guys get it to show all the chips at once?

minimum order size from CPC is for 4 different chips is 400.

Okay, thanks. Also, I figured out how to save my mock-ups on the page itself so that I can view them. Still need to muddle about with it to get them to my hard drive though. Glad I gave myself so much time. LOL
