Since most board games come with crappy paper money or cardboard tokens, I wanted to set up a set of poker chips for my gaming needs. I'd like a convenient case to pull out--currently, I grab out a few racks from my poker set. Most cases I see also include card storage and I don't need this in this application. I'd prefer something smaller to take up less table space. One option is to just use a few trays with covers but that seems less nice. Does anyone know of a small case for 2-300 poker chips that doesn't include card storage?

If you google "200ct poker case" you 'll find plenty of Chinese cheap ones.
It takes a little more effort to find them empty (without dice chips inside them).
Not sure if they include the unnecessary card deck space or not, but you should be able to take out the dividers with bare hands and fill them with soft tubes containing chips.

Other, much more niche and hard-to-find solutions may be vintage wooden cases from time immemorial.

Oh, one of these 200 chip carousels might work. Assuming I can fit 25 in a column:
1 x 50
5 x 50
25 x 50
100 x 25
500 x 25
I'd have to see how big it feels on the table and if it can really fit 25 good chips as opposed to the plastic dice chips they are marketed with.

I've got a couple of these carousels sitting around doing nothing, and would mail it to you for cost of shipping. Be warned, though, shipping from Canada might not be as cheap as you think. Let me know if you are interested in a quote.

Maybe, if I decide to go that route I'll PM you. That's very generous of you! Thanks

Found this at an auction. Not sure on the brand but holds 300

Apache 2800 from Harbor Freight?
Hmm maybe, I'll have to measure out the dimensions and see how it would fit 2 racks or so. Given its bulk it might just be tray transport and the trays go on the table. I use a toolbox to cart around my ~1000 chips as it is. They don't fit great but it works.

Did you ever find a small case? I'm looking for the same, except I do want card storage. But while looking I found this. Only one crappy picture so hard to be sure if it's really as decent as it looks.

Hard to beat the $23 price. According to the one review, it may or may not come with 300 cheap plastic chips. LOL.

This is the one I'm considering. With card storage for $25. Wondering if anyone here has tried it?

I bet Alecnet could make you something to fit your exact specifications and look incredible too. Might cost a little dough, but quality customs always do.

You trying to make me look bad? :ROFLMAO:  :ROFLMAO:  :ROFLMAO:

I guess I assumed he wanted something a little more budget friendly...

https://www.amazon.com/VINCI-Aluminum-500-Chip-Case/dp/B002P9YRN0/ (Despite the slug in the URL saying "500", the link should go to a 300-chip case w/2 deck storage. For @TX_Golf_N_Poker, not OP since it has deck storage.)

Click/tap where it says New & Used $19.91:

Choose the Used - Like New option. Chances are it's an undamaged return-to-stock that they can't sell as new anymore. Saves you a few bucks if you don't mind the shiny aluminum instead of the black finish.

For me, yes I'm trying to get away from the aluminum. First choice would be faux leather, but the black ABS is OK. Not sure if OP cares.

Alright @Dude here you go! Cool old vintage case that only holds 200 chips. This one should be perfect for you. It does have underneath storage, but that won't take up extra table space.

Going to leave it alone unless you tell me that you don't want it. I don't really need it, but it's too cool to pass up.
Oh, that's pretty slick. I was going to go with 2 racks with lids but I may do that. I'll decide later today and let you know. Thanks for the tip

Of course, I still need to find a $1 chip to use :). Back around 2007 I bought a lot of CDI05's for T5 based tournaments so I have a many $5s, $25s, $100s, $500s and $1000s but no $1s. They also worked for micro 0.05/0.10 stakes cash ;) When I get enough cash I'll post a wanted add for some here. But I may try to harvest some local casino $1's before that.

So what's the verdict? I'm going to grab this if you don't want it. If we take too long, neither one of us will end up with it.

I just ordered it :) Let's see how it is. Thanks for the tip
Well after helping you find this little case, I decided I had to have one too. I had seen two others that were quite a bit more expensive, ($40-45 shipped) but then while looking at some bigger cases, I found another one at about the same price as yours! I'm going to use my to put together a small cash set for head's up games, up to 4 player games. One of my son's and his wife like to play a little casual game when they come over to visit. So this box with 200 chips (probably my Aria's) will be perfect.

So THANK YOU for asking about something I didn't even know I needed. But I did!

Isn't that's what this forum is about? Finding the things we didn't know we needed! I mean I didn't know I needed little clay discs with pictures of coked out giraffes, but now I'm looking into how much I can get for my kidneys.

Now I'm looking at matching vintage 300 and 400 chips cases. This place is a disease!
