hey all, what do you guys use for simple inlay designs? using an iphone. basically just want to cut and paste various stock art for ideas before sending off to the pros

I recently just designed a mockup for a tournament set inspired directly from the current Bellagio house chips using Picsart and Phonto. I call them, the Mellagio set. I used Picsart to make the circle and add the background M (instead of the B), and then Phonto to add the curved text in the inlay. I had to use Picsart for the M becuase Phonto doesn’t go high enough in the font size to fill the inlay.

I’m going to most likely redo this since I want to add “No Cash Value”.

People have used inkscape and gimp which are both free but have a learning curve.

My advice would be to not worry too much about a mock up or anything like that before you hire a designer. Grab a few images that are samples of the look and theme you are going for, have a clear idea of what you'd like and then let your designer do their thing.

If you have any questions feel free to PM.

thanks for the replies! i was originally going for a cartoonish design (obvious terribles rip-off lol) but now i’m thinking maybe a simple classy design... i like that bellagio theme mickey o_O here’s the chips i’ll be relabelling. got the horseshoes due to budget and the fact that primary terribles 25s are the worst chip ever lol. i think they work ok together.

I can’t decide if I like the black or the white better. But immediately after looking over all the posts in this site, one piece of advice I’m noticing that’s being implied and not directly said is unless you’re trly proud of it and can’t take your eyes off it even after a while, then explore all ideas and take your time before deciding on a design.

I agree on both, if i’m honest with myself, i dont love it. it’s better than the original inlay, but looks like what it is: something thrown together in 15 min
