Shuffletech Gone? (1 Viewer)

Interesting to hear praise. I think it has been beneficial to our game. I’d wanted one for years but the price tag was too high to justify and so many negative reviews. Found a good deal on a used one. I’ll still say the price point is a little too high.
Even used it isn't cheap. I got mine used and it was hard to find. We spend ridiculous amounts of money on chips so it doesn't seem as bad. I can't imagine a civilian ever spending that amount "just to shuffle".

My table also has some not so great shufflers and I've seen them almost damage cards. I like my cards too much for that. So much of the shuffling lands on like 3 people and sometimes on long games my hands get beat. Like someone said earlier if you get 150 good games out of it at 4 bucks a game, I'll take that. With proper care I suspect it can also hold up even longer. People are spending thousands on single chip sets and a shuffler has more functional use than high end chips.

I love mine. I bought it about 8 or 9 years ago. I have found that Bicycle Prestige poker size cards work best in mine and we might have one jam a night which is easily cleared. Once I got the shuffler I instituted a no snacks policy and started having hot dogs to keep the grease and gunk from getting into the unit. I also have dedicated cards for it that do not get hand shuffled. We used a deck that had been hand shuffled on several occasions and we had lots of jams.

My story is virtually identical. Mine is in a rolling cart that I bought from a poker table builder-Big Slick?

Has anyone tried sound dampening materials like the ones used when installing an audio system in a car?

Dynamat or something like that? Could work well if you build a nice enclosure for it. I've been okay with the noise level otherwise I would have probably built some kind of enclosure for it or used that Apache case that another forum member posted about. That seemed like a sweet solution.

I have one flush mounted in my table and it has worked great - aside from the periodic jam, depending on the cards I use. Does make quick work of shuffling - especially when the player count is reduced. Given I haven’t used it much lately I’ve considered selling it but it’s hard to think about disassembling my table since I put so much into it...

I have one too, but haven't mounted it yet. I'm planning to use dynamat and foam to help with the sound. The owner gets shipments in every 2 to 3 months and fills back orders instead of stocking large amounts at all times. He definitely sells plenty of them though outside of our community. He had like 30+ to ship when I bought mine. He got a nice settlement from the lawsuit with Shuffle Master a few years back, and he keeps selling them, so I doubt he's going away anytime soon. He's still working on the next gen version.

I read somewhere about him working on next gen version too. I'd love to see the new and improved model. He could likely continue selling V1's at a discounted price with the newer one having a premium.

It would be cool if the next gen one opened the lid with the push of a button like the ShuffleMaster.

Nice table. Are those 2 screens in the table? If so, are they there to display tournament structure/rounds or something else?

I put something similar on the underside of the lid. It helped.

I also opened up the unit and put adhesive dampening material on the inside of the outer shell. This helped a bit more but I'd recommend against it - it's very easy to jostle small pressure loaded springs inside the unit and resetting them is a tremendous pain. In the end, all of that effort didn't seem worth it.

If you have it flush mounted, putting some sound dampening material on the underside of the lid will help the most - but it'll still be somewhat loud.

Also, if flush mounted, and you don't care about how it looks on the underside of your table, I'd suggest putting the sound dampening materials on the exterior of the shuffler.

If Shuffle tech ever revamps their design, they should mimic casino caliber shufflers and have a thick metal lid instead of thin plastic.
