Hi all,

The guys I play with do better with jumbo index cards. It's amazing to me though how much the size and placement of the PIP varies from card to card. I bought a set of Modianos a long
time ago that were jumbo index, but it was a little smaller than some other jumbo index. The box is just labeled like any other Modiano box as Jumbo Index.

I think more importantly to me is the placement of the index on the card. I bought a set of Slowplays, and the suits are way down from the top. You have to lift up half of the card when peeking! I'd like some cards with the index as far up in the corners as possible. Seems to make more sense to me.

Attached is a picture of what I'm talking about. The old Modiano "Jumbo Index" is on the left. I think this size and placement is good, but could be even closer to the edge for me. The second from the left is a newer Modiano jumbo index that I think is closest to most jumbo index cards I see these days. The third one is some casino branded card where the pip is ridiculously low on the card - fail. The fourth is an old Desjgn card I have. The placement and size of this is pretty good, maybe I should try those again. (Had big problems with the backs bleeding onto the fronts with those old decks I had so that made me not consider them too much.)

Sooo... any suggestions on which cards have jumbo index but have them moved up into the corner as much as possible? Bullets seem to look good in this regard, but they are expensive, so I haven't tried them yet. Thanks for any suggestions.

The Desjgn flourish are a good middle ground in my opinion. They are regular index but they look more like a medium index.

Not a huge fan of these but they do address the corner-index and jumbo-index issues. I have a 4-color deck I used once. Everyone hated the 4-color but no one complained about the pips. Copag Poker Peeks.

:vomit: :wtf:

And every single one of my players felt the same way. Cards were swapped out at first break, under threat of a 12-way chop and everybody just going home. :bag:

Careful. If they are too close to the edge, they are much more likely to be exposed when dealing

How? I'm not understanding this.
Decks are designed to be beveled a little bit, if you put the designs too close to the outside, the cards might become exposed on handheld decks when they normally would not otherwise be

I like that PIP size and location. Do you know who those cards were made by or where I can get some? Tried a quick google, no luck.
I had few decks like 5 ya. I think they were made by Cartamundi or Fournier. Quality was poor..green backs quicly wear off

Just to follow back around with this, I did find the Ace branded cards. I love the PIPS on those, just what I was looking for. The only problem with them is that they are a little slick and cheap feeling, but that's because they are very inexpensive. They are on the right in the pic below.

Look into Fournier 2800 and 2818 cards. Pips are pretty darn close to the corner of the card and aren't absolutely huge. They and the desjgn cards are probably my favorite cards.

Thanks very much for the information. I actually have a deck of Fournier 2818s. I really like them, one of my favorites. The only issue I have with them is that they were a little slick the first time we played with them. Maybe that will get a little better as they are played with more? I have written down to look for Fournier 2826s, but didn't write down why. Do you know what the difference between them and 2818s are?

If anyone else has any suggestions, please keep them coming.

I think the Modiano cards you are looking for are the 'Poker Club' version. Not sure if they are made anymore.

Yes, those are the ones. Thanks for the link, interesting reading. I would purchase a setup if I could find one, but even though I favor Modiano, I am sensitive to what they did to Desjgn, and resist purchasing them. Also, my set I am talking about have faces that began fading quickly and they are bowed pretty badly, so I'm really looking for similar but different ones to them.
