Crappy chips that are readily available for sure. But I'm pretty sure no one is going to try to sneak in fake chips at a game run by mafia. Not anyone who values their appendages and lives.

Ya this. I played in lets call it a social club for Italian americans, and they used dice chips. I would have been surprised if anyone tried to sneak anything in there.

Table games use paper cards. But yeah not a lot of security.

I'm always amazed that even a lot of legit/smaller cardrooms use readily available dice/crappy chips that you can pickup at costco/walmart/etc... I guess they aren't concerned about security in the least. I see people post in the live poker thread shots where they are using common slugged plastic sometimes not even with a semi-relabel.

Some people go to great lengths to counterfeit casino chips so you know low range Joe Blow is going to try and do it with dice chips. I can only guess they are willing to absorb the small loses for the overall high returns.

These chips being used don't surprised me. People in these games prob care more about the money they walk away with than the chips they are using. I have talked to some people who actually prefer the weight of sluggos compared to lighter chips....
