I took every barrel of scroll mold chips I received and placed them in every barrel of two different newly-created Chipco racks from PGI. Of the 50 barrels of chips, only three wouldn't properly fit in the middle barrel of each rack (the narrowest). It was close - I probably could have jammed them in, but clearly that wasn't going to happen :)

My guess is that with a little shuffling/play, those three barrels would fit just fine. All other barrels fit into all areas of the rack snugly or with very little play allowed.

Okay, now create a splashed pot picture, then re-rack into new random barrels and try again. Very interested in the results of the second go-around.

Similar results. Two barrels wouldn't rack; another two were uncomfortably snug. The rest fit no problem.

Sounds like 67.7mm racks are your ticket. Or start shuffling.

Thanks for the link.

Something else I just noticed: not only will not every barrel fit in the Chipco racks, but the scroll mold chips are actually too wide to touch the bottom of those barrels! Additionally, mint Paulsons don't touch bottom in every barrel of my Chipco racks.

*le sigh*

I think the only true 'perfect fit' in all of chipland is brand new Paul-Son chips in brand new Paul-Son racks. Everything else is a compromise of some sort.

I am having the same issue. I just got a batch of racks, and the middle barrel is noticeably more snug than the other four (which are all perfect). I've tried every denom in my set (not Scrolls), and it's always just the middle row of the rack.

Well, I can say that I went and bought genuine chipco chips, and unlike my other ceramics, they fit perfectly in every barrel. While some barrels are obviously a hair larger than others (i.e., the barrels that fit my old chips compared to those that didn't), they fit the chipco chips perfectly in all barrels.

No doubt about that. I was just hoping they were useful for other my CPC chips as well, and unfortunately they don't quite fit the bill.

I'd go with abby99's recommendation, she owns the nicest and most reasonably-priced 67.7 racks I've seen:

FYI, I checked with these folks. The proprietor is actually local to me, and she has closed up shop. In her email to me she actually said to check Spinetti's for 67.7 racks which I found slightly comical since, to my knowledge, they don't sell such a product. Soooo...any other suggestions on acquiring quality 67.7 racks?

The racks that I purchased were drop-shipped from what seemed to be a related company located in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, I threw away the packing slip. Could you find out whether they're still in business, or who bought their inventory? Could they have sold their stock to Spinetti's and maybe they haven't updated their website?
