What's going to happen to the old Sands chips? Destroyed?

The Sands Chips are very Crappy looking. Dirty, not a great design, and most very well used. When I went last week I tried to ask a few dealers and a Poker Room boss and no one seemed to know what they would be doing with the old chips. They still were using the Sands Chips as of last week in the Poker Room. I know in NJ all chips must be destroyed because if you still have Chips from a closed casino you can go to the gaming commission to redeem them. Not sure about PA rules.
