San Fernando's Mission Bell label design (1 Viewer)

so I am Hoping to get my first CPCs and ive had an idea for a label running about 6 years now. i am from the San Fernando Valley in los angeles... the old idea was VALLE CASINO... pretty cool, but i never pulled the trigger... We are a mission city... and i wanted to borrow from that... and lately, ive been messing with orange grove and orange crate label vibes, and i finally decided to marry the ideas because i saw that there were some vintage orange crate labels with the mission involved and heres what i got...
i've never been a huge fan of picturesque chip labels, but i really want to make something unique if i am going to go through all this trouble and money...

the main font might be a bit thin, and i know it needs some tweeking, but i love vintage chips, and i love that i came up with a cool casino name, and it all made me happy to be able to have it belong to san fernando haha... then i dont have to try to tack a location anywhere... haha

I grew up there too! The Bear Pit and Matt and Tony’s were extrodanary.

Love the concept! I like the direction of the inlay, IMO definitely needs some tweaking to accomplish the exact vintage orange crate vibes you're going for, I'd say either keep tweaking, or work with one of the designers on here if possible. Love this vintage typography and design.

My grandparents owned Ciccone’s Italian on sepulveda a little further down.

I spent a lot of time with my grama, at the restaurant and she would always take me to the bowling alley there also. Thrifties ice cream and Kinneys shoe store haha.

I’m not very particular other than “vibes”. everything is there, the mission bells, the oranges, and tons of inspo from these orange crate labels all over the internet.

(Getting the denoms right was hard for me) not married to what I did.

Yeah, I was using a “warp” effect to shape the letters out of square, and I see what you are talking about. On the end of “mission” I can probably fix that up thank you!

And yeah that circle sleeve me a bit too I’ll fix it up.

I think I am nearly commited to this Cali line up, I’m debating a few things, but something along these lines.

I’m going to use a spot colors for the outer rings of the label.
