Edit: @Gear is right. They were smaller lots. Tricky ad

Bullsh%t pictures, bullsh%t title, intended to mislead, have to read the fine print to see what was in each lot.
Couldn't agree more. I strongly suspect someone thinks they just bought a rack of these for $600, and they are going to be sorely disappointed when only a barrel shows up.

Whose got two thumbs and needs to read more carefully. This guy!

I actually picked these up before seeing this thread and recognized the 20 vs 100 before it was here but not before I pulled the trigger. :(

I talked to him a bit before buying, actually only lives a few towns over, and he seems like a nice guy. Already asked if a cancellation is possible because of that so we’ll see what happens. I asked him before buying if there was a discount on shipping for all 100 and he didn’t correct me so there’s that too if I need to reference it.

Did you pay already? If not you can just hold payment and not complete the transaction.

That’s a very shifty eBay ad. The chips are nice though
Yeah based on the conversation I had with him and the quick cancellation though I honestly don’t think he’s trying to BS anyone on purpose. I’ll definitely suggest he add a “(4)” or something to the title or else he’s risking it happening again.

Happy ending to a dumb ass listing. Sorry for posting without reading thoroughly. These don't appear in bulk often so I got eager to relay the ad. Glad it worked out!
Thanks @MegaTon44 ! Fault was mine though considering it was in the second sentence of the description lol.

People often complain about sellers doing the reverse, selling multiple lots but only showing one lots worth of chips in the pictures. I agree the way he listed is more likely to be done with malicious intent and lead a much worse outcome (for the buyer) since in the other circumstance you can always dispute it if the chips you got didn’t match the pictures. Either way I mentioned it to the seller so we’ll see what happens. He seemed like a good guy so I think he’ll either make the change or issue more refunds.

He’s been around forever and is a great guy. That is JM from Chiptalk right?

If I recall correctly this is JM from Chiptalk and I think we can cut him some slack. He is a good dude for real.

Somebody invite him over here. He can avoid $60 in eBay fees. A barrel for $540 is still a little steep, but that might still tempt somebody.

That is the eBay username I remember JM using. Great guy, no surprise he made things right. It would be good to hear from him here on PCF, it’s been too long

He said he’s goong to be selling more chips in the next few months but based on this sale he’s not looking to do it here, which is fine, just means I’ll have to work on my reading comprehension going forward for some epic chips on eBay

Glad he did the right thing. If it’s JM, he’s a solid dude.

I can only add to this...JM is a great guy.
Tried to reach out after he left CT....but never got any feedback.

Hope he is doing good.

I was cool with the seller until the new listing...

"Grand Casino $1 Casino Chip from Gulfport Mississippi (relisted since previous buyer didn't read the listing before buying them)"
"If you don't bother to read and understand the listing and make a purchase, I am NOT cancelling the order! RTFL"

More like relisted since my first auction was misleading in both title AND photograph, but the fine print was oh so clear."

Seller is JM from ChipTalk and he actually PM'd me sayin the new language wasn't about my interaction but the person who purchased this after me. I guess they admitted to not reading the description and weren't so much as asking for a refund as demanding it.

While I agree the post can be misperceived, at $30 (only selling one chip at a time now) the buyer would either have to be clueless or negligible given the price/quantity available plus the description. At the same time I agree a simple "(1)" before the title of his ad would avoid all confusion.
