Run it Back with Stefanie Ungar | Stu Ungar's Life & Legacy (1 Viewer)

Stu Ungar is my favorite poker player (or gambler really) of all-time and it's not even close. Incredibly excited to watch this documentary... there's a video from the 1997 WSOP of Gabe Kaplan interviewing Stu Ungar and it's my favorite clip of all time. Just two New York Jews from opposite ends of the Brooklyn Bridge shooting the shit about poker like old altercockers. Will try to upload it later.

I watched this last night and really enjoyed how open she was sharing stories of Stuey but loved seeing her fixed watching and taking in the footage, particularly the 1981 event which she said early in the interview that she had not seen before.

I had seen both before (the 1997 event is fairly well known with the ill-advised "lets hold the final table outside... in the summer") but I had suspected something in the 1981 event that she confirmed. At the end there are shots of a younger boy in a ball-cap watching and at first I wondered how a young kid would be allowed in the casino, let alone so close to the action. I guessed that it was likely Richie, Madeline's son that Stu adopted once they were married but I had no way of confirming. Stefanie said "that's my brother... the one in the baseball cap" during the celebration after Stu won which made me happy that my guess was right.
