I want to get a roulette wheel and am looking for info from other that have one. I would like to stay under $300 and am considering the Brybelly unit.

I don't know for sure, but I've heard that very small wheels (20" diameter and under) can be quite biased, leading to hot numbers. This might be due to their light weight, or lower quality materials, poor balancing, or casual/accidental damage during use/storage/transport, or any combination of these factors. For casual home use, this might not make a difference at all. For anything approaching business use, it could be a very big deal.

If you're going for a small wheel, maybe you can stretch your dollar a bit and get used, because I doubt it will make much of a difference. I would avoid the bakelite wheels unless you like the all-black look. Larger diameter is better.

Full size wheels are EXPENSIVE and HEAVY. I totally lucked out on a real Huxley wheel that I got for under $2000 freight-shipped across the country (Massachusetts to Washington). It's 150 pounds of smooth-actioned authenticity. Not for the faint of heart or the limited of space. Most used wheels of this size approach $3000 prior to shipping charges.

in my experience don't buy roulette wheel below 18", cause the ball is often stuck beetween the metallic border of the fixed side of the roulette and spin very slowly on this part. larger ball ball won't have this problem but won't fit the littles case. it's difficult to explain maybe i should do a video
but to resume 18" roulettes suck. no problem above 18" cause you will have ball with wider diameter

I would save and buy a nice one for 2-3k. People that have used ones often cant move them so save and peruse for a deal.

Same concept as chips. Buy a good one and you can sell in 5 or 10 years for around the same price.

Thanks for the help guys. I have been looking for a used pro unit and the only one in my area needs some restoration work. I will keep my eye on eBay and the local classifieds.

Better deals are available on nationwide Craigslist. I've seen excellent-looking full sized wheels for $1500 (sometimes). Some have even been converted into side tables, but can be converted back.

Old thread I know, but have you found anything, @Lars?

I'm also looking for an affordable non-plastic wheel for an occasional home game (probably with no real money exchanging hands). This one I think is similar (or same) to what you had linked to back then, and I see many many sellers with the same one (I don't believe for a second the "handcrafted" part). Has anyone here tried it?

These are all over Amazon and eBay. I think the biggest ones top out at about 19.5" diameter. I wouldn't spend more than about $200-250 max on something like this.

My ex-casino wheel. Just a bit under $2k after freight shipping. Beautifully balanced. Interesting starburst trough pattern, rather than a more traditional rectangle.

I’ve got one. Used it once so far. Seemed to work well.

ACEM seems to have a few nice ones, no prices though but according to their eBay store about $370 for the smallest (19") one. Anyone tried those?
