Ok. Sometime back I said I was going to pay attention to when I hit 1000 posts, 2000 posts etc..... Well today I noticed that I hit 5000 posts!!!!! I know not all of them good, but not all bad. Some with love, some with contention. Some about this and some about that.

As you all know I'm a huge fan of the Riverside Reno. Specifically when ol' Pick Hobson had it. so...... as Ive noticed alot of you have these giveaways at milestone post marks etc.

Here's mine.

To enter to receive, free of charge, including postage world wide my commemoration of the Riverside and 5000 posts please post a verifiable fact about the Riverside Hotel in Reno or any of its owners to be entered. Pictures of the hotel, inside or out will make your entry X2!

The Catch..... You will have to read the posts of others as if you post a duplicate fact or picture........... for that reason.......... you're out and sent to a second chance drawing for a misc Riverside Gift!

Do some research and have some fun with the posting.

I believe its in my purview as its MY thread to allow the Putin on the Ritz Gif here, and so it is. No reporting!!!! If you change the Ritz to a Riverside chip and post your entry will be X2, so if you post a picture of the riverside and the gif you get X4!!!!!

Thanks for putting up with my 5000 posts!!!

Dan

Riverside casino was built in 1927 View attachment 804745
Hmm the current latest version was built in 1927, but it was named riverside inthe 1880s but burnt down and eventually rebuilt under the same name. Funny, actually reading that article myself but I believe @Okku deserves a free entry for doing a full Video review a while back... how the hell do I share a damn link?? Lol

The Riverside prospered as a hotel, performance venue and casino in the 1930s-40s due to its use by those from back East seeking divorces under Nevada’s liberal (for the time) divorce statute.

Also a fact: I like Riverside chips.

FACT: I have never stayed at the Riverside Hotel in Reno or met any of its owners.

Fact: In 1967, the Nevada Gaming Commission revoked the gaming license at the Riverside over a dice-cheating scandal, and the Riverside closed completely in 1968. In 1971 Jessie Beck purchased the property and opened her own casino.

Fact: Whomever wins this giveaway, I’d be grateful if I could trade a couple other Riverside chips for the pink hundo, as I’m closing in on completing a full rack.
