Downtown is the nut low of Vegas. I like to stay center strip, somewhere cheap. Flamingo, sometimes it's Ceasars. I book on travelocity, package deals...usually very inexpensive. Also pick your days wisely. Better choices of games on the strip too...Bellagio, Aria, Venetian. You don't want to be in a poker room at a shitty table and there is only one or two other tables. You want to be able to move tables easily to get into a better game if possible. That's my philosophy, at least. Have a nice trip.

^^^ Agree, but they play in Florida, Texas, etc. All night games, even on weekends.
Baseball works in Phoenix and Houston, but they have enclosed stadiums.

I'd be shocked if the Rio was adding much if anything to Ceasar's bottom line. Consolidating it into the existing strip properties makes pretty good financial sense in the current gaming climate (incl. moving the WSOP on the strip into the proposed Forum Convention Centre to be completed in 2020).
