Do people really look at these? I'm Chiproll formerly Chiproll from Chiptalk. I'm a longtime gamer, boardgamer, member of Boardgamegeek and that eventually led me to playing poker and chipping. I lived in Missouri and actually worked in a casino during the "poker boom" and I would drive to Kansas City or St Louis to play 2/5 NLHE cash games maybe played in 4 tournaments and won the last one I played but 8 tables really the payouts weren't worth it. I've bought and sold some pretty sick sets but nothing super impressive (in terms of qty, no massive cardroom sized sets or 20+ player tourney sets) and it didn't bring me too much satisfaction because home games were few and far between. When I did get some players it didn't seem to matter what I had. I actually used my chips more often in boardgames like Monopoly or Sherriff of Nottingham and my family just thought I was being weird. I've always liked having the best components for games I played including poker, but that also goes for other games I've played where I use upgraded acrylic components instead of cardboard. I always sleeve my card games etc. So here I am lurking, seeing changes in the industry meanwhile seeing familiar names like Jim at the Chiproom. All the while knowing that wanting is twice as a desireable thing as having.
