Do people really look at these? I'm Chiproll formerly Chiproll from Chiptalk. I'm a longtime gamer, boardgamer, member of Boardgamegeek and that eventually led me to playing poker and chipping. I lived in Missouri and actually worked in a casino during the "poker boom" and I would drive to Kansas City or St Louis to play 2/5 NLHE cash games maybe played in 4 tournaments and won the last one I played but 8 tables really the payouts weren't worth it. I've bought and sold some pretty sick sets but nothing super impressive (in terms of qty, no massive cardroom sized sets or 20+ player tourney sets) and it didn't bring me too much satisfaction because home games were few and far between. When I did get some players it didn't seem to matter what I had. I actually used my chips more often in boardgames like Monopoly or Sherriff of Nottingham and my family just thought I was being weird. I've always liked having the best components for games I played including poker, but that also goes for other games I've played where I use upgraded acrylic components instead of cardboard. I always sleeve my card games etc. So here I am lurking, seeing changes in the industry meanwhile seeing familiar names like Jim at the Chiproom. All the while knowing that wanting is twice as a desireable thing as having.

Always fun to see chippers come back to the hobby and it does happen pretty often! Means this trully is one of those forever hobbies which it has seemed to me like it was in the two short years I have been around. Unfortunately it seems the days of cheap chipping are gone. This hobby like many others took off like a rocket pricing wise through the pandemic. Hundreds of new faces to the hobby with very limited supply hitting the market has left many starving for awesome chips! But if you are patient deals can still be found and awesome sets assembled.

Best of luck on your chipping jorney... round two @Chiproll !!

Hello and welcome back to the forum .
Lots of new faces here !!!
Just having fun …

Welcome! I am also a proponent of chips for all games, and I am definitely eyeing some sets that I need to get to "enhance" my board game experience. Glad to see others of the same mindset.

Welcome back, I also returned this year too. I've always thought that board games are a great use for chips when you don't have a lot of poker games going!

So true! That's probably why so many chipsets keep changing hands. But it's very hard to resist temptation. :)
