There is a lesson to be learned here for folks running bigger group buys.

It might be safe to assume the long arm of the law will not bother someone selling a rack of chips for $200 but only declaring $25, though that might not actually be true. But it is increasingly difficult to make that assumption as the number of transactions rise and the amount of money involved gets large. Better to be upfront and truthful than take the risk in my opinion.

It would be easy to say "everyone does it" and likely true to some extent. But that is no defense, especially in a big group buy with lots and lots of documentation about chip values. Toss in the risk that someone gets mad and submits a "whistle-blower" complaint . . . .

Just saying be careful out there -=- DrStrange

Good advice from the good doctor!

I'm glad things have calmed down a bit.

We're all friends here, and we share a common interest. We all have a deep appreciation of the craftsmanship, artistry and practicality of the replacement currency we call casino chips. We all have our favorites and our preferences. I love the Key West design, but I'm always stunned when I see a beautiful design floated by a member here. We all are.

That shared hobby has taken a beating in the past decade or so, with manufacturers shuttering, chip prices and shipping costs rising, and monopolies gobbling up suppliers and vowing to shut us all out of the game. The draconian, protectionist tax policies of some countries unfairly closes their market to some of the nicest chips in the world. The U.S. is not far behind, as new state tax laws, made by lawmakers who've been bought by the big retailers, have been designed to shut down e-commerce altogether.

We're all in this together.

I personnally never demanded any business to "falsify" records (my @ss)
I just pointed out how naive your idea of "democracy" is. Have you ever been informed about and agreed to , as a US citizen, to each and every CIA/NSA covert action? Have you chosen the people who would hate you ever after enough, to kill you?
Have you played any role in paying a lot more for BMWs in the US, in return for me paying absurd prices for basic Four Roses? :)
What do Greeks know about democracy? You’d think the word was made up of two Greek words or something!!

I think the answer is more chip mule trips to Europe. Go visit @BonScot and bring me back some Irn Bru!
300% tax on Irn Bru.
Trump actually banned it from his hotels over here...

We reckon it’s because nobody could see him when he stood next to it  :ROFLMAO:

Indeed.
No ancient Greek author is in favour of demo-cracy (i.e. people's rule) with the exception of Thucidides, who anyway acknowledges the crucial role of an enlightened leader, namely Pericles.
Any person (like me) who has served in a people's Army (i.e. mandatory conscription) could tell you lots of tales about the utterly gross stench of Mankind. :whistling:

Edit: But make no mistake: Demo-cracy is the system where the life-time (part-tme though) soldier and tax-payer is fellow governor, hoewever dumb, rude or uneducated.

You must be a bundle of laughs on a night out  :ROFLMAO:
Could tell you tragic tales too:D
I had to say good-buy on my Artillery Battalion's land-line phone to my parents at the age of 27, back in 1996 (the Commander demanded that everybody did so). We were off to a war that didn't happen (not sure if it the war not happening was a good thing)
At any rate, there clearly is a need for lots of Scotch ( I 'm not saying Bourbon out of respect) whenever we meet.:D
