Two Pair
Didn't have any plans for Friday night and the wife wanted to get out of the house so we took the 1 hour drive to Del Lago Casino in Waterloo NY. Let me start out by saying I'm not a good gambler and an even worse poker player, therefore I do not like to risk a large amount of money. I went to the poker room while the wife donated to the slots. I asked for a seat at a $1/$3 NLHE table and got $200 in chips. As I approached the open seat they sent me to I saw how many chips were in play and apologized. I must be at the wrong table, I'm playing 1-3. They said "no this is 1-3, have a seat". The average stack must have been 3k with a couple players hovering around 5k. I sat & folded for almost an hour when they opened a new table and requested a table change. The players at new table had between $200 & $500 but the play was just as crazy. The first hand had a pot of about $500 and the winner had Ace high. Another hour goes by and nothing really exciting happens and then I witnessed one of the craziest hands I've seen and really the reason for this post.
Seat 3 is under the gun and raises to $12. He's a young man who doesn't appear to have a lot of casino poker experience. He's attempted string bets earlier and had a hard time counting out chips. He's either a little on the simple side or had too much to drink. Three folds and seat 7 re-raises to $25. I fold & seat 9 re-raises to $80. Couple more folds and now its back the seat 3. He's says "All In" clear as can be. Seat 7 asks for a count and as the dealer starts to count it out and the kid starts to flip out saying he was asking if the others were all in and hes not all in. He kept saying he was asking a question and would never go all in with his hand. He even started to throw his cards in the muck but someone stopped him. The floor was called over, dealer explained the hand and the floor ruled that the All In stands. Seat 7 goes all in for more and 9 calls.
Seat 3 has 7,5 off suit with about $470
Seat 7 has A,K suited with a little over 1k
Seat 9 has pocket Aces with about $700
The young kid stands up and starts pacing and pulling his hair. I thought he was going to go postal.
The kid flops 2 pair, the other hands don't improve and he scoops a $1400+ pot.
