We had the "Rate this inlay" series in 2020, and since I like polls, I thought I'd start a series to pick PCF favorite line up. I am going to use pictures of samples I own because as usueful as the Chip Guide can be, picture quality is often...subpar. Sadly I don't have that many samples, so you are encouraged to contribute with your own (cash/tournament, casino/fantasy - THC/RHC/TRK, your personal CPC custom...doesn't matter as long as you own the sample)

What you are voting on:
- color progression/combinations
- edge spot progression
- inlay design
How do you rate the overall design of the set?

What you aren't voting on:
- rarity/availability
- condition
- affordability

Such a nice and unique set. That blurple 25 is just

Lost me at the green 100.

That does actually Bring up a good point... so we all call them Nevada Lodge/Nevada Club, the $1 even say both on them... but were they not separate establishments but same owners. If so all 3 - $100 chips say "Nevada Club" no mention of the "Lodge" again until the second $500 chip in my picture. So which $100 was actually played at the Lodge? What was their actual line up? Why does every chip other than the two big 5 Renos and the 500s and 1000 have $ signs but those 5 chips do not?

That line up using the lime green/blurple CB $100 is the stuff dreams are made of, rather the $100 is green or not. Top 5 favorite chip ever made for me. But the definitely missed the mark on spot progression if they used the Dark Green saw tooth or Brown/neon green spot.

Even if we pick out favorite path of all of these options (pink frac/ blue QP $1/ red orange 4D14 $5/ Blurple 4D14 $25/ Tri moon green $100/ tri moon orange or QP $500/ then QP $1000) definitely not very original or and sense of progression.

Very interesting indeed, and still think the are amongst the very best chips ever made, I guess just makes you scratch your head a bit.

I find it interesting that, for as much as we squabble over edge spot progression, practically every legendary set either lacks it completely or fails miserably at it.
For me, spot progression is only noticeable when I really sit and analyze the set. In play and on the table the focus is more on the colors and how they play together. In play, that lime green 100 would look really fantastic next to the blurple 25.

Agreed 100% and I guess that's my point. I'm not sure exactly where "edge spot progression" took root, but it seems the real desire is more along the lines of "clear denomination distinction" -- and moving from simple to complex edge spots is one of several tools to achieve that?

I dunno. I know it's been re-hashed 1,000 times, but I always take pause when assessing HOF-level sets.

The only thing I would like better is a yellow 5 and a white 100 - some of my fav chips + nostalgia

I might be in the minority, but I prefer the dark green sawtooth $100.
Well I don't like the edge spots in the progression... BUT... it is the only way to get the classic TRK saw tooth inlay in the line up! So not saying you are wrong, also with the dark Blurple $25 the Forrest Green is really a decent fit for those now obsessed with super Bright Colors!

1/4 pie 25 does not work with 1/4 pie 1 with same light blueish color for half the chip. Always disliked the $20, way too busy and spots are horrible colors. I suppose you can make a good contrast set but spots progression is all over the place. +1 for shaped inlays. Overall ok but not my personal choice.

That's because spot progression is a fiction.

These chips are great. They make me wish I got into this hobby long before I did.

Are all of the chips from the same place? Is it like a MGM to Ballys thing? There are some cool chips in the thread, but they are a clusterfuck of color, font and spot progression.

Each individual chip varies from real nice to awesome. Together as a set they kinda suck.
