We had the "Rate this inlay" series in 2020, and since I like polls, I thought I'd start a series to pick PCF favorite line up. I am going to use pictures of samples I own because as usueful as the Chip Guide can be, picture quality is often...subpar. Sadly I don't have that many samples, so you are encouraged to contribute with your own (cash/tournament, casino/fantasy - THC/RHC/TRK, your personal CPC custom...doesn't matter as long as you own the sample)

What you are voting on:
- color progression/combinations
- edge spot progression
- inlay design
How do you rate the overall design of the set?

What you aren't voting on:
- rarity/availability
- condition
- affordability

3D14, my favorite. The one and twenty are nice, the hundo is cool, and the five is an odd stand-out. The inlay is fun, although the three different fonts (name, denom, location) are really at odds with each other.

If I'm in the right mood, then the five makes this an eight out of ten. In the wrong mood, the five makes this a five out of ten.

I voted 6. They are above average. Good colors on a Cali set.
I went with a 5... the colors are cool... but those dark inlays just look damaged to me even though they are not. The darker color background and odd fonts kind of make it difficult to read and while most say "less is more" I personally would have liked a bit more going on with the inlay.

I think it’s always difficult to make an all 3D14 line up look special. But this set does an honorable job I think. The spots on the $5 could have been brighter. The gold inlay, while completely unnecessary, gives an old school vibe that I like…a standard white/shaped inlay would have probably been better. But the chips look better together than on their own. It’s not a 5, it’s not an 8, it’s a 6.5 I’m rounding up to 7 because it does look unique.

This set is just so odd to me. It's not every day you see a Cali set, even an old school one, that is so drab. I voted 6 but with the above criteria that makes it almost $20/chip, I could see myself almost bumping that up to a 7. I do love the 3d14 though.

I gave it a 6 for pretty much the same reasons.

Just to check I was giving a rating consistent with my own “rating scoresheet”, I went back to check what score I had given the Outpost (7). I think the DOC’s colors are marginally better. Shaped inlays on the Outpost is a plus. Artwork could have been better on both.

I'm surprised I'm on the upper end of the spectrum here, since my feelings toward california colors range from meh to NO.
I don't usually like "less in more" inlays, but this one just somehow has some charm to it.
I was gonna give it a 7, but since they used green for the $20 and black for the $100, I slid them up to 8.
