Rank my Paulson sets (1 Viewer)

Remind me to send you a shuffle stack of minty leaded RHC when I have a shipment to US...you will be amazed (sheraton roulettes)
about 11g per chip....then shuffle some 8 gr boat chips ;) and we'll talk again.

Ps. PCA $1 are also leaded RHC's
Bro, I’m totally mystified by the allure of the eight dollar eight gram boat chips, so you don’t have to tell me there are better options. And though I’ve never owned the PCA $1’s, I’ve often said that at $150 a rack, they’re one of the biggest steals here. I’ve never minded handling RHC chips (well, not minty ones anyway) I just don’t like how they look. But I’m sure I’d love handling those Cancun’s, if they’re leaded.
@Rhodeman77 sorry for the tangent. Your sets are great. I’d assume from all those $5’s, you’re usually playing $1/1 or $1:2?

yes, we play $1/2 mixed games. Current standard rotation is now Hold’em/PLO/BigO.

next step is to add Drawmaha :sneaky:

Probably going to catch a lot of flack for this.

mixed
Carnevale
PCA
Cancun

if the PCA $1 was different way different rating. Not quite as bad as the Aztar MO $5, but how one chip can spoil the bunch. I know they are a favorite around here and I get it except for the mixed RHC. I also give more credit to repurposed chips to make a unique set, bonus for non standard colors.

Cool, was just a friendly offer...didn't want to come over like Mr smartypants.
There are not so much leaded RHC out there...but they are really a class above the rest of the RHC chips (same with leaded THC)

Carnivale
I agree with this 100%.

Great sets man honestly.
Also there is just something about the PCA dollahs that make me forget about the RHC issue with this set. There are so many racks out there that are still in mint/excellent shape (plus their weight) that make me accept them as is. In a perfect world, of course they would be THC.

Carnevale and Cancun are very close, in my opinion, but a clear step below the other two.

I have seen many fantastic inlay replacements and label-overs for PCA $1s. My intention is not to ding them at all. For me, however, the set still looks better with the original RHC $1s. Yes, I would love if the original was THC but it is merely a small detail for me. Not to mention the chip spot colors on bright white look incredible. My taste of course.

@Forty4 : you are officially off my favorite PCF members list! J/K of course. Lots of people on the same camp as you.

That being said, they are all fantastic! I love the uniqueness of the Carnevale set too; the custom labels and relatively unconventional colors just work really well together.

Do you ever take pieces from each set to make a mixed mixed set? Seems like that could be fun from time to time.

I have to agree. I can picture a relabeled Le Cove $1 there potentially looking better, but that takes relabeling a Le Cove $1 in the first place, which would likely be a travesty. The PCA $1 just works.

They are really close for me but I rank.:

1 Carnevale
2 PCA
3 Mixed
4 Cancun

All are really awesome in their own ways, and all are imperfect in their own ways. PCA has the best chip in any of these sets IMO ($5) but an RHC $1. Mixed set has great chips throughout but the five disrupts the x18 spots on everything else. Carnevale has an awesome label but progression regression from the $1 to the $5. And Cancun has an awesome $5 and great spot progression but it is RHC.

All are great. I couldn’t really argue against anyone ranking them in any order.

I guess technically the Empress $100 is a 1/8 spot pattern, but in reality they are for the most part a wider spot. They don’t have anywhere near the uniformity that the Paris or Aztar chips have.

And I was just going to compliment you. Guess I’ll save it for someone else. :)
I knew I would catch some flak for it. I recognize the leaded shaped inlays should carry more weight, but looking at the sets in a vacuum and I awarded points for creativity repurposing chips. It’s close 1-3 the Cancun’s are whatever to me as they could be any run of the mill casino nowadays. But one of my favorite things is to discuss the nuances of the chips/sets. Oh how I miss the design threads. But beauty is in the eye of the chip holder.

No flak coming from me at all! I totally get it. It just happens I don’t share that sentiment. That’s all. ;-)

Says the one guy in pdf whose taste in chips is diametrically opposed to mine.
At least I know where I stand. :cool

I was joking. I actually have no idea what his taste in chips is. Hence the "wink". I doubt our tastes are "opposite". Hell, I like about anything and you probably own a little bit of everything.

It tilts me more when someone replaces the PCA RHC $1 with something else. Just never looks quite right.
