Can anyone tell me if these are pre uspc kems? Or newer kems? I just got them in the mail. I don't have a box.

I have some clear post uspc kems that are mehhh, they aren't as flexible. They are paper thin and when rifled once, they become marked...these do not have those same characteristics

Newer KEMs. The date code indicates they were made in the 24th week of 2011. The (c) also indicates USPC Kems.
Boo! Boo! These are the WPT Kems poker size regular index. I have some bridge sized ones of arrows and casino backs and these wpt fee much different

The dating code interpretation I used is found here.

http://www.cypressfilms.com/Bicycle/USPC_Dates/USPC_Dating_Codes.html

From that site:
"The more recent production code in use by USPC is relatively easy to decipher. The first four numbers represent the week and year of production. Within those four numbers the first two represent the week of the year and the second two represent the last two digits of the year."

Well if anyone wants to try them. I got one deck from eBay for 8.95 free shipping. Should be easy to find. Seller had a lot

Kems used to be the Gold Standard for quality in plastic cards. Until the early 2000s virtually EVERY casino that dealt plastic cards used Kems. They were THAT good. then, USPC bought them in 2004, and it all went to hell.

Why do you think the WSOP started to switch manufacturers? It isn't JUST about the money.

Oh agreed. Just wasn't sure what you were alluding too.

I know that the Kems being offered to people like us are sub-par, bordering on poor. How come when I go to Foxwoods, I think they still use Kems, their quality issues aren't as bad?

No idea. I would guess they rotate the cards frequently enough that issues do not arise. I have some pre USPC Kems that are quite nice.

For a casino, cards are a disposable tool of the trade. If they wear out sooner than previous, the casino simply makes up the loss in another area (rake, looseness of slots, etc.). It does not matter as much to them as it would to a home game operator.
