In a few weeks I'll have my first ever cpc custom cash set. My question to custom poker chipset owners.
1. How often do you host?
2. Do you own multiple sets outside of your custom set ?
3. Do the other sets ever see play outside of the custom set?
4. If you only own a custom set, would you consider purchasing another, non custom set?
At most I host every other month. I own a large Samurai Palace cash set. I'm afraid that it simply won't see any action. Its to nice of a set, and too valuable to just collect dust on my shelf.
Thoughts?
1. I used to host almost every week. Recently it's been about once every two months, but I hope to ramp it up a bit in 2016 (it's been quite complicated with everything we've had going on AND scheduling around other local hosts - also weather is a bigger factor than for most as it's rather difficult to get to my place in inclement weather.
@Poker Zombie would have a spreadsheet I'm sure. Me, I just wing it.

)
2. I own 2 other cash sets besides my customs, one casino Paulson and one
BCC MGK. Both are my personal favorites ever produced by either of those companies, and both have immense sentimental value to me. I only plan on owning one tourney set at any point (my
BCC tourney set will be in the classifieds if/when I get a set from
CPC.)
3. They do see some play, although at least 3 times out of 4 in a game I'm hosting the Via Lacteas will be in play. There are also a couple of "occasional" games (twice/year each maybe) that ask me to bring cash chips if I'm able to make it, and since the VLs don't leave my house (barring meetups) they get some extra play that way. I really never want to sell them, although it's not out of the question if an absolute need arises.
4. Sure I would, and I have, but in the end it all comes down to your situation. If the SPs don't really "mean" anything to you other than being really nice chips, you may be better off with the custom set and wad of cash from selling them. Maybe you could buy something really cool (non-poker-related) with it. But then again, if the cash is going to just sit in your sock drawer alongside another $5k for $.25/$.50 games because you're a massive bankroll nit, why not keep the awesome chipes around unless/until you really need it?
