I have a question for anyone on here from France or knows how to speak French. I have a design idea I'm working on and all I can say at this time is the Casino will be based somewhere in France.(I do know where, but can't say) While the idea is in its' infancy and looks like it will be more like a 2021 project I want to keep working on the idea now. On the Dealer buttons instead of the word Dealer I was thinking of replacing that word with the French word for Dealer. In my translation attempts and searches I didn't get the 100% confirmation I was seeking on the correct term . I think I narrowed it down to the two words that may work. If anyone can help if what is the correct word I should use for the word Dealer as in Poker Dealer. Thanks For your help.

1. marchand
2. croupier

I didn't think it was
3. revendeur .
4. opérateur

Thanks,
Mike

Caveat - I'm not a native francophone (a few years of High School French).

(Brad) Marchand is a creepy little hockey player in Boston that likes to lick the faces of other players (how he hasn't been ejected, banned and pummeled into a little pile of blood and pus is beyond me). But he is very effective as well. Not sure if you want that on your chips, as that will probably be the first thing people think of when they see the word.

Croupier is often used in casinos to refer to the "dealer" in roulette (and possibly baccarat). Not sure if it applies for poker dealers, or if there is a specific term for such.

Sorry, probably not the answer you were looking for.
