I'd love some honest input, recently I decided to buy up a set of economy chips to have as well. I decided to go with the 8.5g "nexgen" clay/plastic chips. After 1 day of analyzing them, I found I really really like them for being the price they are. It's no THC but for the price, I feel like you can't go wrong. I have plenty of pros and only 1 con(rid bit slippery). If anyone else has had these for a while please share what your thoughts are.

I started with Nexgens, they're ok but they are a bit slippery. The best budget chips out there are the Poker Knights (and similar) chips sold by apachepokerchips.com

The Nexgens are ok, but they are so hard and slippery. My favorite cheapies are the Monaco Casino sluggers from Discount Poker Shop. I don’t like heavy weight, but they have a softer, less slippery feel than the Nexgens, or the Showdowns, which were my first “upgrade” set. I have them for my tourney set. They stack and handle nicely, have good colors, and easy to read denoms. The Outlaw and Lucky Horseshoe sets, also from DPS, seem to be the same material, and get decent reviews.

I'd really love to hear how the Poker Room chips (Valentino) handle. Do your chips have a smooth or linen texture?
I will tell you they have a smooth finish and I will tell you how they handle great, but my opinion is not as good as your own opinions when it comes to your chips. Go to www.brpropoker.com and order a sample set. That will answer all your questions better than I can.

Of course a lot of factors are subjective and I appreciate your response. I just wanted to know if a stack of about 20 chips is pretty stable or will they collapse at the slightest nudge?

A stack of 100 is extremely stable. Nothing to worry about there.
