So I oiled some of my chips over a month ago and there just seems to be a slight remainder over the label that doesn't want to come off. Any tricks to absorb it off of it or to buff it into the chip?
I did a test once on a chip that I purposely over-oiled. Visible surface oil that you can't get rid of can just be absorbed by a paper towel like @allforcharity said. But I found that if the problem is that the chip absorbed all the oil and now looks slick and feels slippery, that a paper towel may not draw that oil back out. I first washed the chip with a little bit of degreasing soap, but that once again doesn't draw the oil out. I then put it in my ultrasonic with some TSP which drew the oils out and returned the chip to its thirsty state.
