hey all, saying hey from Portland OR. I got into poker about two months ago playing home cash games with friends. $10 buy-in unlimited re-buys usually 7-8 handed. Played twice live poker here at Claudia's and was so nervous! First hand I misremembered my hole cards and thought I hit the flush which ended up costing me 25 bucks! Needless to say I love the game and definitely attracted to getting some decent chips. Probably a 500-700pc set of China Clays. Also, eventually interested in building a table, as we use a table topper at the moment.

Welcome Portland, I have a lot of family in the Great North West so I know your area well. I think you will find a lot of help getting your 500-700pc sets of pretty much anything you want. And, I'll be the first of many to say this to you. Get samples, try a lot of different chips, don't rush -- or try not to. This can be an expensive hobby but oh man is it ever great.

Haven't played as much recently because of school obligations. When I do play, its either at home games or at Spirit Mountain Casino. I've never been to any of the card rooms south of Portland.

There's apparently a card room in Albany that is run by the father of a high school acquaintance...haven't had a chance to check it out. Wish there was a room in Corvallis to visit when I was down there for the occasional weekend visiting the fam.

Unfortunately, Corvallis is pretty dry for poker outside of friendly home games.
