The price on this Table below in Jersey City, NJ says $25. I don't know if that is a typo or what, but for $25 it is a steal that one of the NJ/NY/CT/Eastern PA guys in here should grab. Even if it was typo and should be $250 that would be a great deal also looking at the table..

Yeah even at $250 that's a nice deal.

Correct.

The "seller" is trying to not so subtly advertise a game. Those are the exact games I would avoid.
Now I see it. I was looking and trying to figure out why would he be listing games you could play on the table. LOL I would avoid those types of Games too. I've played in those types of games years ago. I even left a game many years ago in Woodbridge with 3 of my friends 30 minutes before it got held up by Shotgun. We played in the tournament and busted out. We then played in one of the cash games for a little bit. It was one my friend's birthday and he wanted to go to a bar so we left early. It turns out one of the people in the game called one his friends on the cell phone when he found out how much money was flowing in the place. Fortunately after the robbery as the robber was peeling out in his Range Rover one of the neighbors who lives on the street and was outside saw them running out of the place and what type of car it was and was able to give P.D. a partial plate. Less than a week later the robber was caught by the Edison PD. One of my friends who was still in the Tournament had to convince the guy next to him not to do anything drastic. The guy told my other friend that he didn't have a gun but said he thought he could tackle and take out the guy as he was bigger than him. That was probably one of the last underground games I played in.

Yet another reason why I wouldn't play for anything more than cheeseburger or lunch or dinner money with people, even friends, outside of a casino.

Here is a link to the story below of the robbery. While they had a good turnout for the Tourney with multiple tables for the Tourney the cash game was juicier. Unlike all tourneys I have played at before where the people whom play in the tournament bust out and start a cash game on their own with like dice or crappy labeled chips on the table this place was not like that. They had a cashiers cage in what looked like was supposed to be a closet in the back of the room where there was a chip lady whom you told how much you wanted in chips and then you paid her on then you got your chips. You then went to one of the tables you wanted where each table had a permanent dealer. They had like 5-6 tables going which were 1-2 and 2-5. There were a bunch of people who didn't even show up for the Tournament and just came to play cash. I think the cash games ran every Friday and the Tourneys once a month. It looked very professionally run from my perspective. After that there was never any more poker games at the American Legion. It was our first and last game there. The story only discusses the Tourney and doesn't reference the cash games. There was a lot more money stolen than what was mentioned in the story. The robber I was told went straight to the cash cage and demanded the money. The doors to the Legion Hall were locked from the outside, but a back door was propped open and that is how the robber got in. He did not go person to person and rob anyone individually.

Always wondered how safe these places were. One of the pages I follow is posting big games (no location) with typical 5k buy ins.

Yeah as a rule, I just always stay away from large/raked games. You don't want that in your life (although I understand for some people they might feel like it's their only option).
