My first build is under way and I’m at the stage of getting all the material.

I’m going to do a raised rail with the led lighting underneath. I’m having trouble finding the trim piece that goes over the light with the hearts, clubs, spades, etc. I’ve attached a pic from another thread as an example.

As far as the vinyl for the rail I’m assuming I can get that at a local Joanne fabrics or other fabric store?

Thanks guys!

Joann usually carries Whisper vinyl. Get a coupon.

Whisper Vinyl at Joann's is currently $90 USD/yd (Merlot is at $57 $35 USD/yd).

Same product at YAT is $26.25 USD/yd, with more color options.

Joann's has stores all over, so you may be able to pick up locally, plus they have free shipping with a minimum order. YAT seems to be only online, has free shipping to many states with a minimum order, but seems to charge for shipping to most of the western states.

Even with Joann's 20% off coupon, YAT is the better bet IMO.

Edit - Merlot is $35, not $56 (was looking at the Canadian site) Everything else is $90 (89.99). WTF?

Casino Supply for your foam, vinyl and table covering. Go with the real stuff. The difference in price in nothing in the grand scheme of things and isn’t that big a deal anyways. Our home build…

I got everything from YAT, was very convenient to only have to track one order. I would agree with if you’re going to spend the money to build your own table don’t cut corners trying to pinch Penney’s. I’m happy with how my table turned out with YAT on a budget, but would be very interested to see the differences like the awesome table posted above. Only have a few games in on my table so far but it’s holding up nicely. Built for around $400

this is a bit late but... for what its worth

i have the texas supply store SSC and its highly recommended. Do not skimp on foam. you will have to replace cheap foam eventually.

also dont go with cheap materials. The table will last a long time IF you use good materials and take your time. Pay careful attention to the rail. That is the hardest part for a newbie. get 4 way stretch vinyl. cheap 2 way stretch vynal will rip on the inside corners. expensive 2 way vinyal will too. the whisper is 4 way stretch. Getting wrinkles out is a frustrating process the first time. you will need a automatic staple gun. You will know why by about halfway through the build. Also you wont believe how many staples you will need to remove first time.

good luck and update your progress.
