They are happy to offer beginning lessons, as well as a low limit table for beginners. Typically Linda Johnson or Jan Fisher teach these, and if you google them or are old enough to know their names it’s quite an honor and they do a great job.

Got to meet them both at Jack Binions World Poker Open back in 2002 or 2003. Very nice ladies. Both very good players, especially in Stud variants and Omaha.

It's been my experience that everyone who books a cabin through them, including a non-playing spouse, pays this fee. However, it isn't a separate fee payment. It is included in their cabin price for the cruise. @ekricket check with your contact at cardplayercruises to verify this applies to us as well.

Often the cardplayercruises cabin price is less than the open-market cabin price despite the included $100 fee, or at least not the full $100 on top, because they lock in an early bulk price for their block of cabins.

They came to Florida several years ago (on their own dime) to help with a charity tournament I was helping to organize. They are great people! And always have great stories to tell. They also usually organize excursions from the ship for anyone from the poker group that wants to join them - sometimes the same as one of the excursions offered by the ship but exclusive to the poker group, and sometimes something different than the ship's offerings. They also always make sure the poker players are well taken care of - like a spread of food and beverages available almost all the time in the poker room when it's open. The cocktail parties for the group at the beginning and end of the cruise are open bar - as many drinks as you want for free - plus lots of yummy appetizers. Hard to eat dinner right after.

@ekricket You should probably also verify that both Linda & Jan will be joining us on the cruise. They go on their cruises most of the time, but occasionally one or the other miss one. But they make it very entertaining when they are there together.

Lityle bit of an update day three here on the cruise, Symphony of the Seas. Its a big boat.

There were over 500 signed up players for this cruise so its a big one eith a ton of cash up for grabs.
They have had five $260 satellites (one in five wins a seat) to the $1100 main event and I’ve won a main seat in four of them. If I don’t use the extras as rebuys I can redeem them for $1100 each after the rebuy period ends. Sweet. ME starts tomorrow night.

Just a few shots of the poker room this time.

I just left the Symphony this past weekend. Wish we could have stayed for this cruise as well. I played a little in the casino on my trip (terrible rake) and several of the people were staying on to do the card player cruise (awesome rake structure) as well. Maybe next time. Here is a pic from one of the other restrooms. Overall beautiful ship.

Day one of the main event last night, over 200 entries so far, registration closed today when tourney resumes, first place is guarenteed to be over $50,000, probably start paying about 17 or 18 with a min cash somewhere stound $2500. Managed to hold on to my extra seats so cashing them out today. Sitting at a little over 40,000, chip average is 35,000, so not too bad of shape. Six levels last night, six more tonight.

I'm going on a 7-night Card Player Cruise on Liberty of the Seas in May 2019.
Departing Galveston, TX, our ports of call will be Cozumel, Mexico - St George, Grand Cayman and Falmouth, Jamaica.
I've know Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher for years and expect to have a great time.
I'll be sure to report.

Linda and Jan have taken on some partners, Mark and Tina Napolitano, they are super nice people as well and really go out of the way to make their trips unique and fun. Be sure to meet them and mention PCF and the 2020 cruise to Tina.

Ditto, got to play some with Mark on a recent cruise in Jan, very nice guy. We played in the ship's casino and even when they were arguing with him about string bets he was super cool about it.

Nice to see some more interest! I just got the booking form to add to the thread. I’ll work in getting it on and tested so anyone who knows for sure can get signed up.

What airport do you use to get to Galveston? IAH? Do they provide a shuttle to the port?

I’ll double check, but I think it is IAH. They may offer a deal with a hotel room the night before and the transfer for about $100. If you want to fly in and shuttle over same day I think it’s pretty cheap.
