Hi guys,

It's a pleasure to be in this wonderful forum where we can discuss about our addiction :p
I'm 26 years old from Milan. I work as a marketing and data analyst.

I started playing poker in 2016 in a poker room next to me, and than I started gradually to move all around north Italy to join the best poker room and casino's. I usually play live poker tournaments and cash game (except during covid). I host sometimes home game microstackes (0.25/0.50) with my friends.
Here in Italy there's not neither big poker or chips culture so it's very unlikely to find someone to discuss about. Unfortunately here live poker actually is not legal but at the same time is allowed by the police departments (except for the 3 casinos)

In Italian poker rooms you can find ceramics or plastic chips with metal insert. I personally don't like both, the first are to much light and the others to much heavy.
Sometimes I play tournaments in Sanremo casino (very cool place I recommend you to visit). Here you can play 100€ tournaments buyin, and 2/5; 5/10€ cash game. They use abbiati poker chips, very cool.

During my home game I use 2 set of costume chips I've bought. The first one is a costume set from the napolitan shop "play to win". Ist a 500 chip set of plastic metal insert with a very cool label's costumisation. The secondo one, my favorite, is a 500 chips set of China clay (progen 80). I really love this set and the feeling of these chips. Perfect weight and good colors. Recently I've also started to collect real casino chips from all suppliers (Paulson, Matsui, abbiati). Later I will post some photos.
If you have any question, I'm here.

Hello and welcome!

Abbiati chips are considered some of the best, and they are plastic chips built around a metal disk. We recently concluded a big purchase of these chips (search for "Crown Plaza Group Buy") and they were all received favourably, even if their weight was on the heavy side at 11.5g.

I'm gonna take a look for sure. May I ask what is the price for chip? Ironically I have 2 friends that live in the same small town where abbiati headquarters is located

Ciao e benvenuto
Vivo in Canada ma sono di Torino
Ciao, grazie.
Io sono di Asti, e l'anno scorso ho abitato a Torino per lavoro e università. Come mai il Canada? Anche tu per lavoro?

I wasn't part of the organization, but our prices translated into Euro was about 1.80E per chip, but this was after international shipping. I think there is an order minimum of 1000 per denomination, though. Maybe there are better deals for local/Italy customers.

I thought abbiati only dealt with casinos. How does Paulson and Matsui work, the same as abbiati or they also sell for b2c/home market?
Now I'm interested in buying 500 chips from cpc but I have to find out how much this would cost, considering also the shipment..

Hello and welcome !
Abbiati offers plastic injection molded chips and ceramic/hybrid ceramic as well.
last time I had them sent me a invoice for my order which where 550 chips total. It almost was €2000 including delivery and decal tooling fees

Abbiati Will deal with home market , a group buy like last year is much and cheaper than just ordering yourself from abbiati because most likely you’re order will be a smaller order hence it will be cost prohibitive. Also for a custom inner ring there is a MOQ for 1000 for each domination or you will pay very high additional cost

Welcome! I actually have a large tournament set dedicated to your hometown! :)

Abbiati only sell relativley large quantities to my knowledge, but it's feasible.

Paulson will NOT sell to anybody who is not a licensed casino / card room, even if it's more than 100,000 chips. That has led to an explosion of the secondary market and lots of profiteering.

CPCs are the very best chips available from a business to the general public currently, but you 'll have to be patient. Of course, there are also off-the-shelf (non-custom) CPCs, including the Key West chips. Both firms (CPC and Key West) are very respectable and cooperative vendors in this forum.

Not true, with the quick delivery chips you can order just about any quantity from abbiati, this is their injection molded plastics. And for their hybrid/ceramic line it’s from 1000 and up , these are much cheaper than their professional line

ps this for us in Europe at least and in my experience. I don’t know if abbiati’s sales policy differ for the US

I have family in the north outside Milano!

Do you have any idea as to how I can get my hands on an uncut sheet of Modiano italiano napoletane cards for framing? I have searched everywhere!

I'm sorry I really don't know. Here in Italy you can find these kind of cart everywhere in shop but an uncut sheet is really hard to find, I guess you have to contact directly the company.

I' ve tried to costumize my ideal chips on their website (cpc) but I didn't understand to much about the total costs.
For example if I decide to do 500pieces of A mold: 250 level 1, 100 level 2 and 150 level 3, plus shipping how much it would be? Do I have to add other costs, like inlay?

Visit their website and look at the prices of levels you want and multiple that by quantity it’s simple math , if you want just normal inlays not shaped there will be no extra charge. Artwork is $75 something like that

Welcome aboard the forum! .25/.50 micro stakes! Micro stakes for us is .5/.10 or .10/.20! Sounds like you've at least managed to find a good round of places to play at, which is nice if you're limited. There are likely other forum members near you, or in your region that can help with shipping and grow your collection. There's also vendors here on the forum the sell Paulson's as well as others and can ship to you!

On their homepage, go to "Price List". This shows the price per chip for both un-inlaid and inlaid chips (with circular inlay) according to mold and Level of edge spot design.
Extra costs are referred to in the "Color Cart" page (a few cents more for DayGlo colors and many cents more for Bright White as base color), and in the "Inlays and edge spots" page (many cents more for non-circular inlays).
Hot-Stamps, (instead of inlays) bear (important) extra costs.

Shipping is reasonable in comparison to the total costs, but EU Customs fees can be brutal.

Hi. Before, when i was looking for cdi chips i came across this site. They completely refused to sell outside of italy. I'm no longer interested, but maybe you or others are. Don't know if they actually got any chips, but the prices are pretty good for mint chips even though the euro to dollar convertion is a bit steep the last time i checked. They have some old asm chips (pretty much same as cpc) listed too, the dal negros.

Are you sure? I can't manage to find some informations on their website.
I've decided I'm gonna send them an email and ask if I can purchase 500/600 plastic costume chips. I've got some ideas about the layout and label. But I've to think about the number of chips each denomination.
For sure I can save shipping money, because I live 1h far from their headquarters

I am sure yes. But you can only go with the quick delivery chips if you want to order that quantity.

https://www.abbiati.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/ABBIATI-CHIPS-QUICK-DELIVERY.pdf

The inlay you can have anything you want but the chips exterior should stay the same. You can pick between the chips that’s available in the quick delivery brochure.
You should know that a 500-600 chip order will be 1900-2200€ And delivery time will be 4-5 weeks

If you want a custom inner ring like the GB CROWN plaza that took place in 2020 yes there is a MOQ of 1000 of each domination which of course is not interesting when ordering all by yourself

3,8€/chips? Seriously? I thought the Italian taxes were a theft, but this prices are even worst :'(

€3,5-€4 a chip yes is what you can expect.
The chips are like €1.70- €1.90 but this is before any other fees. The €3.5 is after everything even shipping. Pretty expensive yes

To be honest yes there expensive but abbiati is a fantastic company and that they make chips for non casinos is a exception , and well worth the money. If you want some nice looking chips from CPC you will pay $4 a chip too plus customs you name it. Abbiati offers excellent security chips that will last a lifetime , with amazing quality plastics, the best IMO
