Poker chip storage ideas (3 Viewers)

I have a few birdcages that I am going to use when I get my CARDS MOLD @SeanGecko - I am very excited. They should fit well into the shuffletech cart that I made.

However I am loving some of your storage ideas in here people!

1,800...... I think you need 200 more to round that out to 2,000. At least that's what I told myself. :)

Also, why both versions of the $1s. Are you going to label one of them to something else?
Yes, I'm relabeling the Secondary $1a as a frac.

Some amazing storage on here! For my poker room I built a cabinet between the studs and salvaged a cabinet door adding some metal mesh behind the glass. Some lighting, peel and stick wallpaper, and custom angled shelves so you can see them. Now I just need some beautiful custom chips!

This. I like this.

Picked this up this weekend. Each drawer fits 8 racks perfectly. Who knew 100 years ago they would anticipate my need for 9600 chips storage.

Thanks to google image search, I was able to identify the manufacturer as Macey company from Grand Rapids MI. In business from 1896 to 1940.

As a bonus it also fits my PCA plaques perfectly with room for card storage behind.

That is super cool. And built only like 30 min away from me!

Man, either the walls of your house are really deep, or this must bump out into the adjoining room! Either way, nice work.

ty!
lol the latter. I have a storage type room under the stairs behind this wall. Back end of the box sticks out ~6" in that room.

Do you keep lead weights in the lower shelves? how many drawers can be opened at once? I am impressed the unit does not tip forward with the weight of the chip drawers open.

If you are looking for something unusual, I’d suggest looking at local thrift stores and low-end antiques stores... Keeping your mind open to creative ideas.

After looking at a ton of options online, I found an old steel cabinet — maybe for printers or a machine shop.

The beauty of it is that the drawers are string enough to pull out almost all the way and tip out, without them falling. So I can really access the chips easily for sorting etc.

The drawers also can be removed all the way and carried to a table etc.

I customized them to snugly fit standard racks, using square dowels which I painted the same olive drab as the cabinet. I also added some nonskid material underneath, drawer liner used for toolboxes. This was probably unnecessary but it cleaned everything up.

So I don’t know if anyone has told you this as you posted this in 2020 but I was looking at ideas and came across your post. I am fairly certain that number 7125…. Is a NSN or national stock number. It’s what the department of defense uses to catalog and order parts. After a quick google search it looks like it was a helicopter tool storage case before you beautifully crafted it into the chip display.

Thought you might want to know.

Wow! Incredible info, much appreciated.

Just bought a cheap Riffle Case for about $60 on german Amazon.

I cut the insert so that I can store 13 casino racks with 1,300 chips in it.

Since the chips had a little too much play at the top and partly fell out of the racks or it also rattled, I cut a foldable yoga mat under the racks and on top, so that now there is enough pressure from above and the chips no longer move.

I will cut out some more in the front to accommodate buttons and cards.
